tesco coupons , tightening up

Seems Tesco is getting cold feet.
Looking at the link in Sarahsaver's post, it looks like they do not want to end up being sued by the Institute of Sales Promotion (ISP).
One thing Tesco DO NOT like doing , is giving their money away.
Personally I don't blame the food companies, as Tesco is getting the free 'advertising' and through traffic in the supermarket and the food companies are paying for it
It will all soon go back to the old days of coupons, 1 coupon per product and must have brought it.
The bean counters at Tesco take time to catchup with the dodges that customers do but when they do , I find they bring in heavy weight rules!!!The more I live, the more I learn.
The more I learn, the more I grow.
The more I grow, the more I see.
The more I see, the more I know.
The more I know, the more I see,
How little I know.!!

speaking to one my "regular" cashiers she advised that every now and again someone upstairs decides to become stricter on coupon use. The cashiers are told the policy and told to accept the one non-purchased voucher as a goodwill gesture and then times goes by and the policy is relaxed again.
This cashier was stacking shelves last week and I said I was feeling abit apprehensive about handing over several vouchers in one go and she replied that I should target a young male SA as they take anything.

I still manage to get coupons accepted the odd SA says no but on the whole no problems0

I was also told yesterday that they had just been given a 'briefing' and that the policy was now one coupon per £5 spent and no more than 4 coupons in one transaction.
Didnt like to give her a £4 book one for a £12 shop so gave her cereal and pizza ones as I seem to have LOADS of these!
Like others have said though I'm sure they all get told it once in a while and they get strict with it - then relax again.0 -
Totally agree with you Tracey re voucher acceptance
off topic TraceyB re your sig - hope you don't return to work next month and achieve your goal.

Hi,
I went into my local tesco's on Sunday to pick a few more toiletry bits before the H & B vouhers expired. I bought a few other bits and handed over a couple of the £2.50 h&b ones and 3 of the £1 h&b ones, along with a few other ones (quick reads, cereal, lurpack etc).
My subtotal before the vouchers was about £15.00, he took the h&b ones and a few others, and when the total got to £7 he handed back the rest of the vouchers and said 'I can only take half of the bill in vouchers'
Thats a completely new one on me, this store normally take any vouchers as long as they are not internet printed.
Went in today and did a £30 shop, and sa scanned about £4 worth of vouchers and didn't say a word.
I really think that a lot of the time it depends on the individual sa, there is one nice young lad in my store that will take absolutley any vouchers - i always apolagise for giving so many & he always says 'no worries, it saves you money':T
I really hope that voucher usage is not coming to an end as i have saved a fortune, but if it does i guess i wil just be grateful for what i have saved already, because at the end of the day voucher usage is a bous not a right.
Thanks

I hand over whatever vouchers I have with my clubcard, they scan the clubcard and then scan the shopping. At the end I say I've given you the vouchers but not sure which ones I can use. They usually try them and take them all. The only thing they seem to check for is the expiry date .... however I haven't done a shop since the 'new rule'.. I'm going on Thursday so will have to see
