Gosh Pippi, that sounds very scary and I can completely empathise because 'twas black ice under snowdrift that was my downfall. You stay put until it is safe again.
Good luck with that phonecall. I always get extra pleasure by being super nice (and sarcastic) whilst smiling and being aloof. Well it makes me feel good and hopefully makes them feel like cr*p.
Gorgeous flowers and a really nice cheerful way to open a post.

(()) everytime I drive in snow I think of you and just pray for the best

They were INCREDIBLY helpful -wonder what kind of a shirty letter they got to make them act so nice now:rotfl:

One less debt - one to go (if we don't count student loans) and penguin chops isn't a company so I don't owe any 'companies anything :)

I'll have to stick all the spare dosh into his bank now to get him paid off.

Then we'll really be debt free (apart from the student loan)

You've done it! Congratulations! It took so little to push for it, shows how worthwhile it is to insist on your rights.

That picture - it says many more than one thousand words. You like your landlord, don't you? Cos there might be an ombudsperson for tenants, too.
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • I'll get it sorted its a bit horrific isn't it - no wonder even with my very fine william morris curtains closed (only flowers I'm seeing at the moment) they were blowing a gale - I've cleaned it up and put a towl/pillow behind the curtain - it should be OK for now :)

Is it your mum thats coming for xmas KC?

I never complain about thing normally - they were very cheeky to be very rude and not keep thier word - bad people! I'm reeling from having paid it off the card was only used to pay for the petrol money for my msc at the botanics, driving in and out of edinburgh for a year. All gone now but very worthwhile

    :)

ooo we cross posted. Well done. I am glad they were nice to you. That photo is so telling. No wonder it has been so difficult to get the house warm. Are the windows in need of replacing too? Perhaps the landlord isnt aware of it but you really need it sorting and quickly given the weather.

I owe you a rather big bunch of flowers

:D Uh, how lovely! Very much appreciated, Pip. :D They're lovely!

Cripes, that snow coming through your down! Brrr. Wrap up warm my lovely. I'm currently knitting myself some sort of ear warmer/head band type thing - have lost my hat... Think I might have 'stored' it in the hood of my coat and then gone outside so it's blown off! Doh.:o
  • Pippi I am so PLEASED! Well done you for jumping up and down and creating a stir - just look how well it paid off! :T I can stop being :mad::mad: at them now then. :D

    What a great result!!!!!!!

In 30+ years of driving I have NEVER heard a traffic report for Orkney until tonight on my way home from work, it sounds really awful up there today Pippi so please take care  Loved, loved, loved the driving mantra :D

Love the picture of the flowers, beautiful and just what we need to see on these cold, dark, snowy nights. Brings a :) to your face, whereas the photo of the indoor snowdrift really makes you go .

Not sure of the layout of your house, but is that why you can't get the hall warm maybe?

I'm ashamed to say my DD's for utilities alone are more than all of yours :o The good news is the gas DD goes down by a third in January now we are seeing the benefit of the loft insulation we installed last January :T

Take care, keep safe and warm
