(personally, I'm hoping for the weather we had the first year we came to Orkney at Christmas - absolutely gorgeous, sunny days, golden light, beautiful sunrises over the sea, hardly wore a coat for a fortnight - and we have the photos to prove it )

Yeah its often like that in the winter - it was 9 degrees here over the past few days - but this wind is from the north and tonight I just can't get warm.

I've ordered you nice holiday weather!

I think my island has been moved to the arctic overnight.

Off to investigate the road in a bit - and see if the chickens have blown away alot of ferries have been cancelled so the chickens won't go far if they escape.

(you *will* make sure the ferries are reinstated for our trip, won't you?? I haven't factored in a Plan H for if the ferries are cancelled :eek: Mind you, I'm guessing that if our ferry is cancelled yours will be too, so the chickens will be ok even if we're on opposite sides of the pentland firth waving to each other :rotfl:)
