i'm still having a pretty good think about the photo challenge, not sure what to do. At least i know i'm not going to get hooked on different lenses as mine's a digital and therefore i don't think the lenses are changeable.0

You could always try a reversing ring for the macro - assuming you already have an appropriate lens."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

do you have any ideas of what to do with Kiwi? they're one of the few fruits that i just don't like eating. But Mr LT who professes that he likes them isn't eating them either so i need to do something with them before they go bad. Oh and there's two punnets of them as they were reduced a week or so ago.
thanks everyone0 -

Jam - looked a wierd when I did it but did taste good I did apple juice not pineapple
450 g kiwi, peeled, chopped 240 ml pineapple juice 800 g sugar
Combine chopped kiwi and pineapple juice in a large saucepan and bring to a boil stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add sugar, stirring until disolved. Return to heat and bring to a boil over low heat.
Remove from heat and skim off foam.
Ladle into clean hot jars leaving a bit of head space. Seal, leave to cool and then place in fridge.

I've only one wonderful lens - a 55-200 mm (NIKON D70)
In idiot terms can you explain why that will or won't work and if it does work - whats a reversing ring (?) - sounds a bit sticky

You disengage your lens from the camera. You stick the reversing ring onto the camera body, you then screw your main lens the wrong way round (which is why it's called a reversing ring) via the filter threads onto the reversing ring. This then gives you extreme macro close up - the more wide-angle the lens (i.e. the shorter the focal length) the more macro you get.
Of course you lose autofocus, but you do know how to focus don't you? You just twiddle with your fingers..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I am beginning to think that I was lucky not going to Uni with all these mad supervisors.
Photo challenge has got the better of me. I had a fantastic idea and was very proud of myself for thinking of it. Trouble is the thing that I wanted to photograph is missing! Have no idea where it is. Time is running out for me too as I am setting off on my jolly holidays on Friday and I have to work tomorrow and Wednesday. So may have to think of something else and do it tomorrow night if I can fit it in between all my other jobs. Interesting info there about the reverse ring Z thanks. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar.
