I saw some wellie warmers yesterday and thought of you all :)

    Neep gratefully received ;) x
:eek: I just read that as Willie warmers and wondered why you thought of us. I mean I know that we are all strong women but........

Oh my .... that would be ... unusual!

Pippi, remember to take a little break the way cheri advised - 90/15, and then you'll be able to keep at it.

Forecast is horrible winds round your way tomorrow, hope everything goes well.

Good advice there - I've just taken a break - looked at chickens, made tea and had a cuppa :)

Hya folks...glad the thesis is nearing completion...well done Pippi, you can do it. :j

I really admire you managing to get it done while having a job (or three!) as well as having a family and home to look after. You have also had a rubbish year as far as crises go, so well done you.:T:T

To get my Masters finished, I cheated and went to live "on-site"..bunk-bed dorms, a bit basic, but had it all to myself. I lived/ ate and breathed Astronomy for 5 weeks and got it all done. Well, I did have a few forays to a pub or two :o, and DH popped in a few times :).

I am pleased I got it done though, it's amazing how your life becomes your own again after you hand in the final copy! So head down and you'll get there.

As for the Jag...looks luvverly! My FIL also hankered after a Jag, and DH would probably have one given the chance (and money!). DS2 really wants an Austin DB9, whereas DS1 never wants to learn to drive!

After retuning from living in the Netherlands, with no car for over two years, DH got himself a white
MG BGT (chrome bumpered)...beautiful car, though heavy to drive and a bit noisy! I learned to drive in it...which terrified DH round all the bendy twisty lanes where we lived. :o

We only got rid of it when the gear box and clutch went together a few months after we moved here. We have no garage, so it had to go unfortunatley. He now has a Mini he got new 7 years ago....so he still has a "fun" car. I have the sensible estate, to move children, dogs and plants around, so a good compromise :).

How are your plant sales doing Pippi? I have managed to sell 37 tomato and pepper plants, just to colleagues!! Most of them I am hardening off for those without greenhouses etc. So I have only 16 left. We may do a car-boot next weekend, or I might take them to a garden open-day where I am donating plants and cakes. It's only plum and beefsteak toms left, people are more wary of them unfortunately.

    Oops, been rambling again, sorry!

Must get off out and do more weeding...they are romping away!

    Have a great day everyone.

I have fond and largely disreputable memories involving MG sports cars and Triumph Spitfires from the days of my youth:o
Nowadays I struggle to get in and out of a car without anything untoward happening in the meantime:D
Just called in at a friends and came back with half a bucket of sand and cement mortar that I need for some minor repairs, how times change!

Um they've arrived - OMG - its gusting at 52 mph, I've had to go and try and retreive the laundry - - can hardly (and I don't exaggerate) stand up out there although I am the size of a gnat.

Who ever invented storm pegs was taking the P**** - four on a top here doesn't work!

    Hello to all

Keiss - not doing anything planty at the mo - cancelled all listing and jaunty trips to PO as need get this done! HOpe back online soon

    GV changed days indeed eh?

As I lumped about the garden in the manner of a paper bag in the wind, in a luminous jacket and a pair of enormous wellies to let me keep my slippers on - the glamour in my life from previous parts of it is definitely gone

I told that to the poor chicken hiding behind darwins wheel - as I put her back into the coup where the others were safely hiding - the weather here does for all glamour.

They are almost trained into being in their enclosure overnight and during morning - getting let out at lunch for a wander til bed time when they very accomodating and go back into their summer sorry I mean enclosure.

    *almost* I stress.

My half way house between falling over them on the doorstep, eating my kitchen cupboards and the garden, and them being locked in fort stripey full time.

Anyway thankfully she is OK - and I'm back in- washing soaked - half of it in field - sure its not the cows size so I'll retreive it another day:rotfl:

Learning to drive in an MG BGT is pretty damn cool!

Jag XK8...would LOVE to own one; they're gorgeous :D

Pippi are you allowed 40,000 + 5% or something? Just thinking they might not mind if it is only a little over?
