LT Cheery makes such sense. I took things out of my signature because it was weighing me down. I like the idea of positive investment in property because that is exactly what it it.

Pippi I am sorry to hear that you had a scary moment driving. I am so glad that you are all ok. Not much you can do about black ice. Was out with OH yesterday who I consider to be a brilliant driver and even he slid out when taking a corner.
Blog is lovely and I would never guess from reading it that you are dyslexic (or from reading here either) so you should be very proud of your blog and not saying that we feel obliged. I love reading about the girls, darwin and the little tips for cooking etc. I get a little excited when I check my dashboard and there is a new offering from you.

hi hope we're all surviving the yet more cold weather. I've got almost no voice today, so my work collegues are happy :(
  • Oh dear to no voice lt - more snow here.

In today for extra work (which meant I could do my own work)

    :) off to catch up
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

  • I'm so incredibly cross - (not emotional - fuming) you know I had the money getting sorted for the full and final - well I've been trying for over a week to pay it off finally - transferred the money to the right account etc - OK I've dawdled a bit - but I've taken it as being paid, I think I'd even said on here - I'd taken the offer and the debt was (in my mind) gone etc.

Tried to do it online to not see a bit that told me the discounted balance, so decided I'd wait until I could get someone to talk to me. Finally, finally, finally, get to talk to someone today to only find out that that letter which had the 60% discount offer for November and December - was a typo

The discount was only for November [letter arrived mid November - double triple checked the small print - got another person to confirm the discount was for november and december] - very sorry - can't help you - can offer you 40% off not 60% - sorry about the typo - um not got anyone in the office last week - well alot of snow you see - I'll go off and check - um - long silence - um no it was definitely a typo for December and um no you can't have the discount.

Instead of an offer of 872 to clear the account they now want 1308 which I just can't manage - I burst into tears I was so frustrated - I feel so utterly stupid. Didn't get the extra work money until late November and decided to pay off current cc balance and then use that to do the f&f until I got paid etc - to make sure we'd be OK.

Very annoyed spoke to one girl who was positively horrible and rude and said just cos they'd offered it - didnt make it binding - then went to say that they we're oblidged to take a discounted offer - when I pointed out they'd offered it - she said December was a typo - and they wouldn't be honouring it.

Phoned back and talked to a bloke who was more helpful - but even after he'd checked couldnt help either

First credit - suck. Website has almost no information on it - impossible to get anyone on the phone and they don't seem to be professional at all.

I know I'm not 'entitled' to a discount - I'm just so worked up at having taken the time to really work out if I could afford it - organised the money best way possible - and stuff - just to be told that the 6 weeks discount they offered actually was only for 2 - !!!!!!s.

Dunno what to do now. I'm not thinking yippee I've got 900 quid to spend on sweets - I'm thinking *&)(&(^*%^(*(&***&*(&U()_^_)** - I thought I'd managed to pay off that debt, in my mind it was gone - done and dusted - stupid of me not to realise and get it sorted sooner - I've just cost myself £1300.

I'm so damn cross at myself.

    (sorry for the rant)

    Oh Pippi
I'm so sorry to hear that, wish I had some bright suggestion to get around it but I don't.
I can only send hugs and a reminder that the best thing in a crisis is TEA!

Also, you're not an idiot, you were doing things sensibly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Aw ta greenval - spoke to OH just now who reckons maybe they would have said that for the November money - but maybe not - it was a big discount.

I've made some chamomile tea and i've put on some candles - :)

Nice to see you - however did you get on with your arbour in the garden - did you manage to sort it a wee bit - sorry if I've forgotten.

sending you hugs, is there not someone else you can complain to? if your letter days December than you should be able to rely upon it. They certainly rely on their letters to people when they hike up interest rates!

greenval is right you had to make sure you didn't leave yourself and your family in the mire which was the right thing to do.
