Oh thank you me dear! I'm off to try and take 'winter' pictures later - although I've taken a fair few random ones this week
might choose one of those!

Hi all
I went to a Christmas dinner too. Lovely evening, talk about killing the fatted calf, I think most of it was on my plate:)
I've no idea what the weather is doing, 9am the path round to the garden was really black icy, Max, the dog, and I do Bambi impressions, I let her in and went out and put salt down. It was OK for an hour. Now it's white and icy and the fog is coming down
I've fed the poor starving birds. I can't tell you how glad I am to have the' Wayne Rooney ankle brace' It looks like the ones footballers wear, but helps to keep me vertical which I can't manage on my own.
I'm trying to convince myself to make a start on the Christmas cards. It's the Council civic award 'do' on Wednesday and if I can just get those done I can give them to people as I see them rather than posting, very MSE!
On the keeping warm front I had the the extension done with cavity wall insulation, can't have the house done as it's old and doesn't have cavity walls, but I can feel a difference.0 -
Loving the new title of the blog, it brought a smile to my face. Thanks. Must try those pancakes. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

The new blog title is great! I keep forgetting that you post on there every day, even when you don't post on here - but it means I have a double dose to catch up on, which is lovely.
I've posted a question about ingredients - how big are the cups, blah blah. Hope you're having a good day - shattered and hungry after my shopping trip, but now warm, well fed, and up for a cup of coffee! Everything is still melting, but its really cold out there. No sideways snow tho, thank heavens.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hey folk - bit of a horrible drive home - nearly ended up on both bits of the road with traffic coming the wrong way - very very not nice - 3pm bit of snow - 4pm black ice and bonkers driving from the airport - bleurgh - thankfully not hurt nor dd - but crazy crazy teach me to go down a hill I guess.

1 cup=128g flourthank you for the lovely wellie comments! I've finding the writing on the blog is something I work into the day as I often write it in my notebook first or have a wee stash of something I've saved, its helping hugely with the dyslexia barrier for me - helping me to get words out even if they don't always make sense - I don't often have alot of money stuff to post at the moment.

hello all just checking in. Had a 'surprising' day yesterday. Went to my sisters to pick up her contribution to the cake stand, and ended up with my eldest nephew as well who wanted to help. So he stayed at ours last night which is the first time in a few years, and i took him back this morning when we all went for a swim, then we went for dinner, did a bit of shopping (food stuff), and then home. OH worked this morning and rang me to say he was on a 12 hr shift, but then he was home when i got home as they'd messed up at work and got an agency person in as well. We made over £90 on the cake stall which i thought was fab. Didn't get any thanks really from the care home which was a bit annoying but not unexpected.
On the windows front i think we've decided to go for the new windows and patio doors. I know we have the money, and i'm sure i can live with pushing back my DFD by another 12 months, at least the money won't be wasted.0 -
ps i think i may have to have couselling when i have to change my signature back after paying for the windows! i am going to need a few hands to hold at the very least! The last time it went upwards was right at the very start after i messed around for the first year not taking DFWanabee things seriously.
glad you made it home safely Pippi, i nearly ended up in a ditch last year in the snow and ice and even now when i go round that corner i can get a bit jittery0 -

:j:j:j:j:j:jWe'll all hold your hand - well done on the windows and brilliant on the cakes - sounds like you had a lovely time with your nephew!
Driving in icy weather not funny - more snow here - can't imagine what tomorrow will be like

128g!!! Be a bit more precise, woman :rotfl: thank you, thats exactly the kind of thing I need. My scales are very ancient, but if I point them at 130g, then no harm, no foul
That sounds really scary on the black ice - not much you can do about it, is there? It doesn't sound like there's a skill to driving on the black sort, you hit it and you skid - is the skill about waiting till you have traction again and then steering into it as per a usual skid? Gulp.
LT - I'm *sure* you've made the right decision on the windows. I may have to follow you next year. Our hands are here to be held2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
phones where do they hide? places found at my sisters and my house: freezer, fridge, laundry basket, washing machine (after washed), tumble drier (after dried), car, bathroom.
i've got a sore throat which hurts when i cough, i guess i shouldn't have gone swimming today and let my hair dry naturally whilst driving round and going to restuarants. i guess i'll live.0
