Morning all - hi Pippi, there must be a lot of thinking and reassessing going on for you right now, hope you're okay. You haven't suddenly started another diary have you? Stick a linkie on here if you have :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Evening all - sorry all a bit chaotic here - tyre to get mended, car to fix darwin tyre to change, cockeral to drop off (one gone - two to decide about) - went into a palson the way home and stopped for a bacon sarnie and a cuppa - emerged 3 hours later - we have had a lovely chat with her hubby and OH blethering away too!

Regular order for eggs too :)

Wet here - like an ice rink out on our track - Cheery - snow quickly going.

Very sorry a bit quiet - OH leaves tomorrow - having some us time :)

    LT - I'd go for it. :)

KC you're always very spot on with life! I've put in a time line to work - bit worried about that - given a late April absolute finish date - so much to do before that - but now I think that I'm a bit more head straight than I was a few months ago - I'll have to juggle a bit money wise but we'll see what comes up - Dec has a bit of pay, January will have the extra work money come in then if I time it right, I've still to find out when I'm geting paid for teaching - so I'll ask about that in mid Jan to maybe get that ticking in during February.

And, I'll be keeping my eyes open for a p/t job - you never know - or get some garden cards done and sharpen up the tools in spring - tunnel to go up etc - it WILL all be fine - just a case of tweaking things.

    :)

    Off for a catch up!

 Hi there! You've got OH with you, how nice! And blethering over bacon butties - well, if you're not going to be online, thats an excellent alternative :D

The way you work at things, Pippi, as long as you keep working, and mulling it over, you'll find the income sources, I'm sure. I know its a worry, its bound to be, but you have a lot of skills and resources, I'm sure you'll do it.

2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • LT, I had double glazed windows replaced last summer and this winter I am only having to have rads set at 2 or 3 instead of 5, the house is much warmer. Most of the old double glazed windows had failed and had fogging inbetween the panes. It was a lot of money paid out all at once but has been well worth it. I've also kept all the curtains closed even during the day, that seems to help too. Good excuse to have fibre optic twinkly twigs switched on and a few candles too!

Glad everyone is surviving so well. We still have huge amounts of snow but managed to get the car de-igloo'ed today and hope I can take it to work on Monday.

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

I agree with what the others have said - you know that you can gain odd bits of income by using the small stuff, and when the chips are down that is exactly when the small stuff comes into its own isn't it. Honestly, I think you will cope just fine over the next few months - you have so many good ideas and are always on the lookout for more, and that is such a positive way to be with a patchwork lifestyle.

  • Relaxed start here too - although I can hear sounds of movement that suggest that OH is up so the peace will be shattered shortly! The cat and I have been enjoying sitting in the quiet - me browsing the boards on here with a cuppa and her looking out of the window dreaming, I suspect, of birds! ;)

In hyour signature btw, shouldn't penguin chops now be the "Last stripey debt standing" or are you counting the student loan? Only I seem to remember that Martin's advice is to ignore those until you actually hit the statutory level to start paying them off, and just keep deferring?
