1st load of washing hung out, 2nd load in the machine, spreadsheet set up for accounts but still not started.
It is lovely and bright so I have the patio doors open so I can hear the birds but it is flippin freezin so they won't be staying open much longer.
Love a cuppa, thanks Pippi. Would you like a bicci to go with?:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Pippi, no idea if permaculture stuff is forerunner to sustainable development stuff - all just common sense really, and I reckon the sustainable development stuff is just the policy makers etc catching up with the hippies
:rotfl:
And I can beat you with a mouthful of a degree title - environmental management and sociology and social anthropology :rotfl:
All cheery here today :j :j :j Lovely flapjack at WI, cheery £1 charity shop top (and an old copy of Country Living for 50p), porridge with plums and dates in, bread's cooking in the oven, and I'm off round another lot of charity shops this afternoon, before getting in the garden
Posted your parcel this morning (second class I'm afraid, it was a bit heavy!), so hopefully with you soon! :T :T

Hi all
Lovaly and bright here. I can't believe how quickly stuff is starting to grow now, weed seeds especially!
I've tied the wisteria in to the new arch so it now behaves itself and doesn't grab you by the throat as you pass by.
I've edged the lawn and it's amazing the difference it makes.
Chimney man has now fitted the downdraft preventor coil and gas fitter is back on Tuesday to reconnect the gas fire.
Suppose I ought to do some housework.0 -

Hey chaps gv you are right, tis sunny here
Well I'm creamcrackered and have just put up two of the shoddiest fences of my life! But the chickens are now (hopefully out of the main garden which now, with shoddy boundaries actually looks like a garden rather than an area right around the house) out of the garden.shoddy but functional!

Hello Pippi & all,
It's been gorgeous here today & I have finally dug the veg patch out :j. It did take a few hours & I am tired but delighted. The soil seems really good stuff. It took a few hours to do & felt huge ... but then when I stepped back it looks tiny in comparison to the rest of the garden only about 5ft x 7ft , but we can always extend a bit.
I am so late getting going that I've probably missed out on lots of things but now I've started there'll be plenty of incentive to keep going.
I still havent attached the perspex sheets to the home-made green houseso will make that a project for next weekend.
DD has asked for her own patch to grow flowers & I'm happy to oblige if it gets her interested ... any thoughts on what might be easy & yet rewarding for an 11 year old anyone ?
Foodwise her only request is peas & lots of them - she wont eat them except for fresh out of the pod :rotfl:0 -

I'd start with nasturtiums (big seeds) they have climbing and little, things like poppies are good too and they can be used later when they ahve seed on bread, Nigella good too (again can use the seed on bread). other good things are sunflowers, poached egg plants, calendula (english marigold) etc
You're not too late - loads of time yet and well done to the digging
If you need any seed I've a tonne of poppies from Aunty C and other folk and can send you some!
Goodluck!!!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Thanks Pippi,
I have loads of poppies already as gather them every year, but I appreciate the offerI will definitely get her some sunflowers & nasturtiums & we could edge the patch with the calendula, sure I read somewhere that they're great for diverting attention away from juicy veg ?
