Hey All
CO thing very scary, I've heard some real horror stories and it terrifies me. I rang the builder of my flat to ask about if there was a CO monitor and they advised me it wasn't required as there is no gas in the flat - doh!!
Pippi - you seem to be doing really well with your seeds. i bought a salad mix thing on the weekend which I think I can start doing soon and I've also got that potato offer thing from Thomson & Morgan that I think Cherisong pointed me towards (so big thanks to you!) which I need to pick up from the Royal Mail depot.
Soon my balcony will be like an allotment!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
My living room window is like an allotment :j :j Although a very bare one at the minute - the only things growing are some rescued (kind of) supermarket basil (which isn't looking very healthy), and a tray of reduced supermarket salad
None of my stuff has sprouted yet!
I've been in the pub0 -
Thanks for all the birthday wishes for my little princess, DD had a fabulicious rest of her birthday. 3 of my friends popped over after school, with numerous children in tow, so MrA got to meet/be inspected by
many people in one go
We had a scrummy dinner that suited all our requirements and the waiter put a candle on DD's icecream
She was also given a chocolate ladybird when we left, which she was extremely pleased about, I wonder if it did make it to the fridge when we got home rather than her tummy.....!
She was also fine about MrA venturing upstairs to sleep for the first time, phew!! We all went to bed at the same time as he was feeling rubbish, so we watched TV and nattered for a bit and she burst in on us to tell us to stop talking so loudly!!! Oops....nothing like being told off by a 6 year old0 -
Morning all
If anyone wants land cress I have some of that in the garden, I could dig a baby plant up for you.
Bought a whole bag of chillies yesterday, I think I'll try and grow some of the seeds. If that works I'll never have to buy chillies ever again, they are so hot! I'm going to chop up the rest and freeze and there will be enough there to last at least a year I should think!0 -
Yay KK
Trog what kind are they?
I've a whole pile of chilli seeds if you need any(free), all the kinds I've got are on the blog today I've alot anyone want any pm me!
Makeup and Cheery you're very clever with all that growing..........!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Well done on the sales and planting contracts Pippi :T:T.
I am going to have to think of a way of selling all my plants...looks like I have oversown things again...already. I usually manage to sell most of my plants at mine and DH's work...but as there is only him and one other at his work, I have lost a few buyers there!
Really must investigate the WI (weekly), as well as our local village market (once a month)....maybe I should have a go online too...butnever sold plants through the post before...how you do manage Pippi?
Glad lots of you are getting into growing things...it's very addicitve don't you know!
Potted up the first of my toms on Tuesday...they were the end of old packets, so sowed more than the 6 or seven of each that I did for the others. I have already half-filled my sideboard space...so going to lose the dining table in the conservatory pretty soon!! :rotfl:
This year I am determined to get things out into the greenhouse more quickly, so they don't get so leggy. Managed it last year, but then didn't start sowing things until mid-April!! As my greenhouse is cleared, nice & clean already, I have no excuse!!! I have filled some root-trainers and guttering with compost in there, so will get the first lot of peas and beans sown in the next couple of days. Not sure when as it's chaos here atm.
DS has hurt his back (hoovering would you believe!), so he has a doctors appointment this morning, and hopefully will be seeing a chiropractor either today or tomorrow (they haven't answered my phone message yet). I'm still not great, so DH may have to come home to take him into town for the chiro..we'll see how I feel later. On top of it all, it is Race Week, so getting into and out of Cheltenham is a right pain!!!
Sorry about the ramble, why does everything have to happen at once!!
Right off to try and raise DS out of bed to have his breakfast before we head off to the docs.
Oh Kittikins, glad DD had a great birthday, sounds fun!!

Morning all! Glad DD had a lovely birthday KK :j :j And :rotfl: at her telling you off for talking too loudly :rotfl:
Hope you get a little less busy soon keiss! Fingers crossed for your DH's back. (that just proves how dangerous hoovering is!)
Some of my seeds have sprouted :j :j :j VERY exciting. Peas, sweet peas, beetroot, poppy, and something that I've helpfully labelled as 'flowers' :rotfl: :rotfl:No lettuces though - I often don't have much luck with lettuce, goodness knows where I'm going wrong! Rescued supermarket lettuce desperately needs separating into different pots - I'll try to get on to that this evening!
Porridge anyone?0 -
Had my porridge this morning...and yummy it was too.
Back from docs...just a muscle strain for DS, he's seeing the chiropractor next Monday. So plenty of rest for DS.
As for hoovering, DS was doing it as I have a bad back and was told in 2000 not to do any more hoovering/sweeping ever again!!!
Sun is out now...feeling a bit better myself, at least I don't have any more charging around to do now, so I can relax.
I may get more seeds sown, you have an impressive collection already up Cheery!!

Morning all
All this growing stuff is exciting, must sort out my seeds. Good to hear some of you are making money from plant sales too.:)
KK , glad things ware going well with DD and Mr A.
CHimney man now unstuck from previous job and has been round. He cleaned the chimney which was fairly clean anyway and did the smoke bomb thing. It seems I need a 'downdraft preventor cowl' because it's so flaming windy here and it's blowing the fumes back down the chimney:eek:. Having watched him do all this I can well believe it. So, next thrilling instalment is Saturday when he comes to supply and fit said cowl and part me from £150 :eek: Still. beats being gassed I guess:D
Thank goodness for MSE and moneysaving ways0 -
Things are fabulous with MrA, we're just about to book a lovely cheapy holiday for the 3 of us for a week in the summer holidays!! I've deliberately chosen somewhere I can just about (if we eat dented tins of beans which I should be doing anyway to bring down the mountain, lol) afford by myself if needs be, as I don't want to count my chickens, once bitten twice shy and all that, but I'm blissfully happy with how things are between us
Now, if I could feel blissfully happy with the state of my garden, I'd be in 7th heaven! Maybe this weekend I'll get out in the garden to at least sweep up the leaves.....DD was given some lovely plants and a hanging basket liner from a friend so we're going to enjoy making a tiny part of the garden look slightly beautiful!
