glyphosphate .... it has became one of my best friends .... i am so desperate to do organic gardening but sadly cant at the moment as i have an invasion of J.K (Japanese knotweed) it will take atleast 3 years of treatment to get rid of the evil that it is .... and even though it isnt on my land ...sadly as we cant find who exactly owns the land that it is on we have to deal with it as best we can ...
  • Lt tis indeed time for the glyphwhotsit :)

Elatan - learning is the best way - you are night. These plants aren't being put out there yet - weather still fierce here I have to make do with window sills and leafing through gardening books.

I've to swot up on fruits and roots this week for our gardening class - I've not done my handout yet!!! Insert shreeky face

    :)

I'd love to be able to grow spices - and sometimes consider ginger (although it seems I've never considered it enough to actually do anything about it :rotfl:)

I did harvest a load of fennel seeds yesterday though, and just pulled them off the stems while waiting for the tea to brew :D Going to try fennel tea - no idea how much to use but it can't be that difficult, surely?! :D

You are all so good with your planting and cultivation. I sit here feeling guilty and jealous all at the same time. If we do indeed realise the dream of the house in Austria I have come to the conclusion that the most that will be done here is turf and paving to make it look acceptable. :( The house I want in Austria only has a very tiny garden at the front of the house which I doubt I could grow much in other than alpine plants but I could live with that as long as I can have my pots!

Pip, just read your post over the fence before. How beautifully you describe things. I was right there in that memory with you. Indeed you have to learn to take the curves in life!
