Raspberries! I like themmuch more than strawbs, yummy.
Greenval, thank you, it wasn't me who wanted lambs lugs tho (if they're what I think they are). I love them, and I had some at the old house, so I potted some up, and they've survived the bad weather.
Pippi, hope you're doing okay. Cheery too!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning all
Didn't get back on last night sorry - RL got in the way.
Day turned out thus
Cleared out henny pegs - fed both hens and dog (Peedie is half hen we've decided - the mouth part of him is clearly a hen)
COllected eggs (7)
Helped at the opening of the recycling centre for an hour in the morning
Went to chemist
Went home and did a bit of a tidy up
Wrote blogginton
OH arrived (WOO HOO)
Dentist where we had a long chat - and we've decided to keep the tooth (yippee) but thats costly and its a three stage job - first stage in March - not sore at the mo again, think the anti-b's helped that and if I have any bother inbetween then I've to go in
Popped into a pals on way home to drop off eggies ended up staying for tea (Whoops) but wonderful - what a laugh we had - which was nice -
Home bit of telly and then bed
Wierd and nice to have someone here - but I'm awake and normally read for a bit - but not with a big bear in the bed, so I've left him to it and I've taken over cheerys old room and hidden in here with book, laptop and a cuppa.
Bliss
Alot to do today -
Work
A bit outside in garden - need to figure where to store my rasps and a few other things
Hen mothering
Ds needs a bit revision support
DD picking up from airport later - she loved the skiing (she had done it before with us and took to it really quickly) and has had fun with her italain family
Roast dinner
Darwin a run if we've time
Phone back about a job promoting a recycling/sharing scheme also promoting grow your own etc - its a national scheme looking for an intern for 4 months 20/hour a week (mininmum wage) - it was supposed to start in January - but I chanced my arm and applied asking if I could start after May. Got a text about it yesterday, wonder what they are thinking.
Banking to do (hardly any money doing anything anyway - so that might be OK)
One of the advantages of having no income (ok, a low income) is not needing to watch it too much. Just now (apart from the bits from OH) we're just surviving on WTFC and CB which comes in weekly and somehow is a bit easier to keep on top of.
Morning! Lobs a few pancakes about (not the cheery kind - the scottish kind - small round flufffy ones) - lobs the jam about (rasp) and theres butter or cream take your pick.
Off to see what you've all been upto.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Cheery you've got so much done, well done you - only a few days now!!!!
Maty - I don't mind furry things - the only furry things I don't like are bees. We've rats outside but I think only mice inside living in the piano by the looks of it (maybe why its sounding rustic cheery?) We'll get some human traps and set them free as and when we get them. We've always used peanut butter or chocolate for traps they love both.
GV - do you want an autumn bliss rasp to keep your tayberry company? (sorry I cant offer everyone, not got enough to share the love to freely this year - should do by next year thought)
Cheri - I won't be a Dr - I'm only writing up an Masters now - I'll be a double master if I get through this - which only makes me silly but not a dr.
EH - great bargain well done!!!! - my own one bargain on Friday was two 10p parsleys and a couple loaves of bread to lob in the freezer for 60p - I've not bought bread full price for about 2 years now - I took a look at the price of it the other day OMG its expensive -Ds was admiring your seed collecting the other day - I thought he was going to ask why I had more seeds - but he was just checking out what we are going to grow
KC I did a bit with the sedge yesterday (well picked it up and looked at it and put it into a fish box) my word you've got a heavy clay soil, I nearly broke my arm picking it up!!! How hard is it to dig your patch?
starnac how are you and the family?
Off to see what I've missed on the next page, if I've not said anything to you then I am thinking of you all honest!!
KC/cheri - I love rasps but a history of berry picking as a young teenager means I'd never thought to eat them again, in the area where my family are from alot of soft fruit is grown and you normally at some point in your life go to the 'berries' to earn some money. After a day of gorging - you're sick of them for hte rest of your life!!! But now I can eat them in moderation. I'm mostly growing them cos OH/Ds love them in HM pavlova - and for jam - but mainly for pavlova they love it and its so easy to make that we quite often have it.
I think the only problem with strawberries is that cos they are available all year round now - mostly they taste of nothing (unless they are actually IN season) so I think strawbs get a bit of bad press and rightly so if they taste of nowt. Then again if we only ate them in the summer when they ARE in season I bet we'd all really look forward to them. I don't tend to buy them outwith june/july/aug - and I always look for british and the variety 'Elsanta' if buying.
At home I've got elsanta and I think the cambridge ones - which are delish.
I've clearly got soft fruit on the brain eh?

Morning Pippi,
You had a busy but lovely day then yesterday. What is the weather like up there now. It is freezing here. I am like you in that if I wake up early I like to have a read. When OH is home then I cant do that as I would disturb him with light on etc. He is away skiing right now so I am curled up in bed with the laptop after reading a chapter of Dalai Llama. I am being lazy. Being bemoaning the fact that I am in a strop on my diary so wont witter on here.
Read the blog yesterday. It is so lovely that your confidence is increasing. I have had a lot of messages from people about Moo's blog. It is lovely to hear from people isnt it. And I am amazed how many people in America read it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I love moo blog!
I can't often make comments on blogs cos I read them during lunch now and can't be logged in - but Moo has a very fine blog indeed - I love hearing about him - I may occassionally knick the idea and do one from peedie now and again on my own one
But - only if you don't mind - I thought its an ace way to see things differently!!
I'm liking the writing for fun - you all inspired me to have a go. I can't thank you enough!
Its funny how our habits change when partners are/aren't about isn't it?
I'm reading books ds gave me - which is nice cos we talk about them -
Weather well it was light at 8ish and dark now after 5pm
Its been milder lately which is more normal here - I just checked its 9 degrees today
Its fine until the wind blows hard - which is normal - and to be honest I'd prefer the snow to sideways rain.
I keep losing your new diary - I'd almost caught up with it - but I forgot to hit the subscribe button so I've been hunting for you this am
Funny how many americans read blogs isn't it? I wonder why that is?
What are your plans for today.................Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Thanks Pippi, I did it as an experiment - for fun as you say. I am a bit mithered as the laptop is playing up and for some reason safari and i photos wont open (it is OHs laptop that he leaves for me) and so I cant get to the photos to do latest blogs. I am on my works laptop (which is also a mac) that I use solely for people to leave voxpops and video evidence for work so I am feeling quite naughty!. Of course do a blog with Peedie, its not stealing my idea at all. I have found lots of blogs written by dogs since I did his and I even follow dogs on twitter. Are you on twitter? I know I am a sad individual.
Plans for today? Well I am in the doldrums and finding it very hard to get motivated at the moment. I should be cleaning up the house today as it is a mess. So that is my plan, a bit of spring type cleaning. I should also be decluttering the room of doom as I want to move my office into it as it is warmer in there. I will probably end up sitting on the sofa feeling sorry for myself again though. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. (()) cheri
WHen I feel like this I either put on Alanis Morrisette or Aerosmith or Abba very loudly and do a burst of cleaning - followed by a long sit - then another very loud song - followed by a long sit.
Alanis is just angry and cleaning makes me angry - so its a good match
Aerosmith - is mainly 'dude looks like a lady' which reminds me of Mrs Doubtfire and her mad cleaning to that song.
I also like Queens I want to break free - video of Freddy cleaning is such class.
Abba now reminds me of the mamma mia film - which gets me running around too
What music would get you either boinging about or motivated? Pigtails and long socks of a stripey nature do help enourmously
I also make peedie dance with me - sad I know - but he gets excited when I charge about and we do have a bit of a dance.
I haven't allowed myself to twitter yet - I'm very obsessive compulsive (moi? surely not!) and I know I'll just do that rather than write up- but after May I might indulge
I hate the doldrums. They need to be recycled to those people who are always annoyingly happy all the time especially early in the am but are generally not very nice people.
(no offence to anyone on here - I have someone in particular in mind)
I think using the work laptop might be OK? You're not exactly doing anything outrageous!

Ooo Pippi, I love cleaning to music. Sadly my taste in music for cleaning is nowhere near as exciting as your and I lost most of my cd collection when exOH packed his things and left whilst I was at work so I had no say in what I wanted. He even took all the cds he had bought for me for presents. Cheeky beggar!
I usually put on Robbie Williams, Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra or Doris Day at full volume. Moo hates the hoover and chases me whilst barking at it. Coco comes out and sits on top of his cage and dances up and down, sings along and shouts Who's a good boy (he hasn't worked out I am a girl, mostly because there have never been girlie animals in the house so I only ever say good boy) I do like cleaning to music. In fact, once I get started I do like cleaning. I love the end most when I sit down with a cuppa and a snack.
Thanks you have perked me up with that post.
By the way, twitter can be addictive but a good way to use it would be simply to tweet your post from your blog. I now share my posts via facebook and twitter. If you look at the bottom of the post on the public view you can click on either and it goes straight to facebook and/or twitter feed. Good way to promote it. You dont have to tweet much more (although it can be addictive) so why not start it up just to start promoting your blog for when you are ready to start earning from it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. I meant to say - I love Queen, my favourite thing to do is to play the theme track from Highlander at full blast when driving around the Highlands, so whenever I listen to Queen it just makes me happy. I especially love Who wants to live forever. A big track for a big place. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Cheri - big hugs and I hope the doldrums pass by you very quickly. How about putting a playlist on youtube? I made one the other night when I was having my melancholy moment and whilst there are some beautiful slow tunes on there that make me feel all dreamy, I've got some kick-!!! goodies too
As I'm too tight to pay for itunes, I love wading through YT for gems.
But, cleaning?!?! Seriously......go for a swim or something (I loathe cleaning with a passion, tend to do it when we have visitors, much to DD's chagrin......but she can wield a hoover almost as well as me, and loves dusting, so I can't wait til we can divide the housework between us, shame she's only 5 so can't reach the cobwebs on the ceiling yet, lol)
Pippi - glad your tooth is saveable and even gladder that you've got breathing space before the treatment starts, woo hoo!0
