Frightened of my lodger - help???

Agree with others - get it reported. Also do not throw the dog food / vomit away until you've spoken to the police, in case they want to test it (retrieve it from the bin and put it in newspaper and a plastic bag out of the way)0

Could you line the inside of the cage with a freezer bag?? Then if this happens again you have the evidence to give to the police who could test it.
Stay strong and give your dog a big soppy kiss from me:D

Wrap it well and put in freezer to keep it from going off.0

Hi Sugarbabe. Sorry to hear the latest worry/puzzle.
I would definitely tell the police and try and get a security camera too (for the front and back if possible).
Can you do any of the following:
change your work habits/times for a week or two to be around the house more(he will know your routine by now)
get a secure mailbox and block up your letterbox, or see if the postie can leave your mail temporarily with a neighbour whilst you have the letterbox blocked off
Keep the dog papers as evidence (any way of getting them tested?)
Keep a diary of any happenings that might occur.
Ask your neighbour across the road to keep an eye out for visitors when you are out
Be extra vigilant when letting yourself in and out.
Get your son to check things are okay when he drops you off.
It's best to put as many things in place as you can think of to make you feel safer and cover yourself.
(The above suggestions may be abit OTT but it will make you feel better, the more safeguards you have in place).
As always, take care0 -
Hi Sugarbabe, I think I posted this a while back but it is time to speak to the sorting office and arrange to collect post from them or maybe your neighbour will take it there, put a note on the door and seal up the letterbox so nothing can be posted through. I did mention this in my first post - get some wood and nails and close the hole so nothing can be put through it.
You might prefer to get a locking mail box for outside your house from now.
And call the police ASAP and tell them what you found!! Was it today? I would also speak to a vet to be on the safe side too. Some vets offer a scheme called Pet Aid offered by the PDSA where those on a low income do not pay much, just a donation they can afford, so please do this if you are short of cash. Here are the details: http://www.pdsa.org.uk/pdsa-vet-care
He is trying to intimidate you so it needs to be reported because if anything happens to the dog then they are not going to have to look too far and he will get done for it. Hopefully the dog has vomited instead of ingesting. This time. Seal the letterbox and put a note asking post to be delivered to Post Office/Neighbour/etc... Do it first thing tomorrow, until then, is there a room you can leave the dog in so he cannot get near the front door?0 -

So your input would be appreciated please.:)
I came home from work tonight at 6.20pm, and once I said tata to my son (who picked me up from work) I shut my front door, to find some dogmeat papers at the back of my front door. Got to say this puzzled me a bit and then when I went upstairs I noticed my dog had been sick twice on the stairs???? Very very strange I thought, phoned my son who said to phone the Police as he is worried for my safety??? Now I do not understand whats going on here??
I have a large post cage at the back of my front door, to stop my post getting ripped and mainly to protect the posties hands!!
I dont want to phone the Police with this-its just bizzare!!
I checked with a neighbour who verified that my dog hasnt barked at all today and she has not heard anything, but my son is convinced that someone (well poss the ex lodger is trying to poison my dog!!)
But the more I think about it the more it is worrying me, my dog seems fine, but how and why did this dogfood end up through my letterbox? Do you think this very ill man is trying to frighten me more?? Should I phone the Police?? I do not feel scared just puzzled thats why I am asking for any input/thoughts to this.
Thanks
Sugar x
report the incidence to the police - and get the dog checked out!!
my grandparents were taunted and harrased by a mental health patient across the road for months before we realised what was going on - once the police got involved she backed off and started on their cat - stuck a plated of catfood through the cat flap laced with broken light bulbs - luckily the cat was tucked up in bed with my grandfather with the door shut .. sorry to worry you but you need to look after yourself and the your pet!!
please contact the police!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
Have your locks been changed?YES
The dog food wouldn't be able to get through the caged letterbox. It was the cheapo sausage shape soft dogfood and my dog can chew through that, it was a couple of soft ends(if that makes sense!!)
Does your dog have a little door (like a cat flap)?NO
Can things be thrown into your back garden?Possible, but son has checked the back garden about an hour ago
I would def let the police know and maybe get a vet to test your dog to make sure it hasn't been poisoned (don't want to scare or upset you)Going to chat to Police tomorrow and my dog seems ok Not scared or upset -Just a tad annoyed by it all really,QUOTE]
Thanks, my lad came over again, checked everything and he is looking at buying me a cctv system for front and back garden. If this is petty mind games its pathetic-and irritating!! :mad:BSC member 328:TB/R Nov 08 - Nov 09:TLife is a lemon and I want my money back! (Meatloaf)

I wish I lived closer, I'd offer to come and house sit during the day while you're at work.
Ferkin' nutter.
Keep well!0 -
I have sealed letter cage (boxed up) and put the wrapping/food in the freezer as suggested. And my dog has vomited twice so she seems ok,she is not behaving in any way thats worrying me. Me and my son are sure she is ok but he is coming tomorrow during my working hours to check her out and take to vet if need be. Neighbours both sides and across are being vigilant during my working hours and will txt/phone me if need be and one will call Police if she has to.
My son is also worried that exlodger knows my comings and goings so he has instructed some of his friends to pop round to mine at various times during the day, so I will wait to see what the Police have to say tomorrow. And I WILL NOT be intimidated by this person, if thats what he is trying to do. Every incident is being logged by me and son as Police suggested we do. I have everything covered as far as I can I think?BSC member 328:TB/R Nov 08 - Nov 09:TLife is a lemon and I want my money back! (Meatloaf)

The lodger is just !!!!ed off that he's finally been ejected and in "revenge" mode.
As long as you do not respond (which I know you will not) and keep informing the police these things will stop on their own as he gets bored (or locked up)
