Can you take a motor bike over a pedestrian train crossing?

Hi guys,
This may be a silly question, but I cannot find any laws on this and was wondering if anyone could help.
I ride my Vespa into work and the quickest route is over a pedestrian train crossing. There is a road leading up to it, albeit a T road.
Is it illegal to ride it over? Can I just carry it through?
Just a question as I dont want to get into trouble

Pretty sure you shouldn't ride over it, but you would probably get away with pushing the bike over it.
Would like to see you carry a Vespa though lol0 -

Ha ha, yes carrying it is a silly idea I'd end up getting crushed by the bike or the train, definitely one of the two LOL
Thank you x0 -
Network Rail will probably have the answer.0

That would depend on any statutory signs displayed.
Anything like this, this
or this
mean you cannot ride your vespa through.
Have you any photos of the location?0 -
Is it steps or a ramp?
You should be ok getting off and pushing, you can push bikes on the pavement so this should be the same, however it is probably railway property and they can say any rules they like, but they would have to be displayed, so keep doing it until someone tells you not to.0 -

The clue is in the name - PEDESTRIAN bridge. You can't ride a bike over it so you certainly can't ride a moped over it. You can carry or wheel it with the engine off though.0 -
Thanks for everyone's responses.
Wig - it is neither steps or a ramp. It is purely a little gate you pull open, cross, and open another gate again. It is easily wheelable.
Dave F - thanks ever so much for your post, there are none of those signs, just a cyclist dismount sign in blue. I will have another look tomorrow, but am pretty sure there is nothing else. I have no photo, but it used to be a road in which you can still drive down (sat nav still has it as a road). Then you just open the pedestrian gates when the light isnt flashing.
Thanks for helping xxx0 -

Take a photo, easier for us to see!0

I'm confused as to why you'd be wanting to use the pedestrian gate.... surely that means the barriers are down, so you're trying to cut across anyway... which would be dangerous..?
I always believed that to be a pedestrian you'd have to carry your bike.... or, in your case your Vespa.0
