  • Hi everybody!

Its been a no-spend day for me today:T

This week is half term so theres bound to be some unexpected expense, but im going to try my hardest to stick to £20, that covers my bus ticket costing £14. I am beginning to realise since posting on this thread that I actually resent spending money on that as it seems to take a large chunk of my £20 - do you think theres a danger i could end up being a complete tightwad?!

anyway, good luck to everyone, i see theres some new recruits this week, the more the merrier eh?:D

  • Turned out to be £3.89 rather than a NSD, needed teabags and fabric conditioner, so OH went to shops with £5 and he came back with some biccies too, so £3.89 altogether today.

Will have to think of a way to encourage OH not to spend on things like this (although biccies were very nice!), any ideas?

Mrs(no)money, a tightwad? :rotfl: Oh why not, we have gone one way, time for another!

PAP, great to have you back on track! Got to boost those savings - you are my post DFW self :D

Froglette, your OH could have been a lot worse and come back with two packets of penguins and caramel waffles - just like mine did just now! I told mine off and sent him to the naughty corner for trying to sabotage my diet nevermind my financial management :rotfl: He ate 2 penguins (sorry PAP) to make himself feel better he said. I am resisting though!!! :A

babes 21 and every other new recruit (thank you Mrs(no)money, feel like the army now :rotfl: ), welcome and hope you post frequently!

    i left the house

just after posting i poured a bowl of cereal only to be hit by the reek of off milk, the date on it said the 26th  and by afternoon i had a sore head (i blame lack of tea!) so i took a wee trip to sainsburys.

got two packs of chicken breasts buy two save £5, three packs of cheese sauce (3 fr £1), 2 pt of milk (4pts were finished so i'll need to buy more soon!), tin of tomatoes and a bag of potato wedges oh and paracetamol, came to £10 exactly but i had a reward to use up so £7.50. and i've managed to make my meal plan around those ingredients( plus stuff in the house) all i need to buy now is mince from asda and i'm sorted :j

Glad its not just me trying to tackle debt and waist line at the same time;) - might try the naughty corner for my OH too (I seem to remember that this punishment works best if delivered at one minute for every year of the subjects life - half an hour seems like a long time though:rotfl: )

Worst thing is - I actually ate 5 of the biscuits; guess that means I can't really take the moral high ground. I'll have to take a leaf out of your book next time Moozie - well done for resisting the Penguins:T
