Good morning DFWs
New week new start! Let's make it a great DFW one eh?
I am not going to spend anything today. I went over last week's challenge by £2.61 and I am determined to succeed this week!!! My target is £30 and I want change from it for the cow bank :rotfl:
Here's the list of challengers from last week - look forward to the update.
I hope I haven't missed anyone off
Anyone having a look in, as I noticed a few new people to the thread this week, set yourself a budget for spending and off we go! :T
Have a great Sunday and week everyone!

Ooooh that's a hard one. Dh wants a xbox 360 game on friday but he's not at work so won't be spending as much money.. ok rough estimate.. £35 for game, £20 petrol, £20 on other stuff.
So £75 for us max. Argh that sounds like a lot but it's higher than normal because DH HAS TO HAVE his game, and we've got to drive to Hinckley in leics on tuesday eve which will eat up our petrol.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
Que sera, sera.

Hi Moozie,
I am finding these threads really helpful. Its making me think about each penny I am spending as I have to account for it at the end of each day here.
I am not sure quite how the challenge part of this works, but I guess that you are setting a max spend for the week and then totting things up by the end of it? If so, can I join you? My budget for this week is £50.
Today could well be my 2nd NSD in a row, but I will pop back at the end of the day to confirm.Current Joint Debts: CC 0% [STRIKE]New Transfer 25.10.06 £6732 15.11.06 £6492.00 03.02.07 £5259.20[/STRIKE] 23.04.07 £3985, Loan 7.5% [STRIKE]01.05.06 £20135.10 15.11.06 £18416.25 03.02.07 £17529.55 [/STRIKE] 23.04.07 17188.50 inc. interest

Need some petrol for the car on my way home from work tonight, so I'll probably put £20 worth in. Other than that though I'm aiming for a no spend day today.
With the kids being on half term I suppose this is not going to be a particularly money saving week. I'm not too badly off for food in the freezer, but with 5 kids to entertain, I reckon I'll end up spending around £100 all told, Sun-Sat. This will include all food shopping, petrol, and any treats and trips out.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -

Hey Froglette, that's what I and many others find with this thread! This and more importantly perhaps a spending diary really makes a lot of difference in the way I spend money.Froglette wrote:I am not sure quite how the challenge part of this works, but I guess that you are setting a max spend for the week and then totting things up by the end of it? You have the challenge right! :T Myself and many others don't include bills, debt repayments or weekly food shopping but it is entirely up to you how you want to challenge yourself. Just come back every day and report how you did!
Enjoy your NSD

Hi Moozie,
Can't post today's spend yet, as we have to go to Tesco - will probably leave it till 3 o'clock as that's when they go wild with the yellow reducing label guns.
Interview 1 didn't go too well I'm afraid, but I have applied for a further three jobs and (this is the one that I would most like) one of my Italian suppliers has told me that they would not like to lose me and we are discussing ways in which I can become an 'employee' thereby continuing to represent them in the UK - early days yet, though - thanks for asking.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hey rog2, the 'wild with the yellow guns comment' made me laugh! Thank you
That sounds promising, I will keep my fingers crossed for you

well i think i blew my budget, but i'm strugglin with my brain on what to actually class as spending, ie xmas shopping and stuff...my brain (as my dad would put it) is mince!
today shall be a no spend day as i'm not leaving the house! this week i'm going to take out £10 and thats my spends for the week. that shall be for my food and any other bits i buy for ME. any xmas shopping or diy stuff (need to get my house done) that can fit into my bills account shall not be included(though i might tell you guys about them anyway).
yesterday was not a great day, but not bad either. spent £14odds on a pot of paint from bnq to finish my living room.
went to asda and fell in love with a pair of shoes, black peep toes with pink ribbon laced around them and a pink bow breast cancer style on the side, they are charity shoes! when i got to the checkout they came up at £6, bargain. also got light bulbs 98p. then a couple of food bits to do me the weekend, £4odds.
good luck for the week folks, and have a lovely sunday! xxx0 -
I'd like to join in please!
However, it's not really representitive this week as it's dd1s b'day next week so we have some spending to do for that.

2 other bits and bobs from sisters + cards etc - £10
Shop from Tescos & bread & milk for week - £60
Pick your own fruit day over half term - £5? (no idea really)
Perhaps a deposit for her b'day party - £20?
So hopefully(?) £145 max :eek:Debts @ lightbulb moment (13/06/2006) - £59,842.23  All commercial debts now clear!!! :T Debts April - £20,000 to family (incl extra £10k borrowed for house deposit). DFD - Aug 2014
