I've just spent $25 on sewing patterns from a US website, think that will be about £13-14. They are to make a velvet evening coat for myself as I'm going to a wedding reception - I've got an outfit that will do nicely but I haven't got a suitable coat and it will be cold, and some hats, scarves, wraps etc. for Christmas presents. I have £18.42 in my purse which has to last me till next weekend. I hope to visit the mill shop to get some velvet on Wednesday, no idea what it will cost.
Going to get my hair cut on Wednesday morning, but will pay by cheque and it won't hit the bank for another week.
Household shopping on Wednesday too, but that comes out of mr newleaf's account.
That should be it for this week. :)

Nothing today as I'm having a duvet day :D

Last week, I was way below budget (:j) - didn't buy my coat yet, am very scared that it'll be gone by the discounted day but if it is then I'm not meant to have it *scratches itchy fingers*

This week, nearly a full week off as it's half term, so £3.40 for parking Monday and hopefully not too much else as I'm very near my OD and don't get paid until Friday and all my birthday money is spent. So £20 I think

  • Hi Moozie and other challengers!

Can I join you? I need to be extra careful with cash for a while (job change and lower wages than ever before - hey ho!).

I'm going to budget £50 for the week. I know that sounds quite a lot, but having surveyed my cupboards this morning, I need to stock up on a few basics of food and cleaning items and I have a rare night out planned this week. My first gig in a long long time and I mean to have fun! But not in an extravagant way - I'm a proud DFW after all!

    Good luck to all!
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Newleaf you sound so good with your hands! I wish I could sew! Hope the coat is lovely when it's done. I fancy a deep red one over my wedding dress, if it's a winter wedding :p

    I'd like to join please.

Have done my shop at Asda this morning - came to £28 which is way less than I normally spend. I have to buy a birthday present/card this week & post it - I'd estimate £15 on this.

I'm going to add on £7 for extras so that's a total of £40 for the week. If I can do this it will be a miracle :j

Thanks for the idea - I need some motivation & encouragement. I get paid on Thursday & that's when I tend to go a bit overboard  - please help me out!!!

Thank you :) I like it very much. The one I'd imagined for me, is very similar! Just longer and the collar is bigger, can be worn as hood.

    Hope you enjoy making it.
