This is such fun, so thanks for the open invitation to join in.

I am cheating a bit as I've just written a shopping list (grocery) and priced it up, £17.40 for the week, 'cos the freezer and cupboard are chocka already. Plus £3.00 on Saturday for the paper and more juice, hoping the 3x1L for £2.30 is still on! So I'll go for £20 and try to knock off the odd 40p by finding something off my list reduced, or a really small piece of cheese!

I spend weeks on end without buying anything other than groceries, as I can't be bothered to go into town. However things are a bit hectic at the moment as my father is desperately ill in a nursing home and we are taking one day at a time. If I disappear for a week or so, that will be the reason. Once we know where we are with dad, we will have mum (91) to sort out, maybe sell her house etc., and find her somewhere she can be properly looked after.

Oops sorry I went off topic there, but I frequently do, so I'll try and behave! :o
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

  • £12.83 in Netto on shopping (budgetted) - should only need bits now during week.

Have £12.69 in purse which will be my challenge amount for week.

Newleaf - that's a beautiful jacket! I may have to bookmark that link for future reference!
Thanks Minnie, it's just the shape I was looking for. The pattern is for a stretch knit fabric though, and it's meant to be unlined - so the wrong side of the fabric would show on the roll collar. However, like Baldrick, I have a cunning plan....;)
I shall make mine in 'dress' velvet, so it will not be too bulky, and line the body pieces with a contrasting velvet, so the collar will look nice and it will be warmer too. I'm quite excited, haven't done any sewing for years! :rotfl:

  • Would love to do the challenge Moozie but I'm feeling very bad at the moment as have been trying to spend only £110 a month but have gone waaaay over this month! I suppose with having the wedding a week ago though I have been paying more than usual for beauty treatments, extra travel etc. Also yesterday bought lots of things for honeymoon! And still need some more things e.g. travel adaptor, long skirt, waterproof wallet. Trying to find these cheap though.

Today I have spent £1.98 on ebay as Mr Pincher was really excited after seeing someone in the pub with a Fruit Machine cheat keys and implored me to get him one! Any winnings he makes he gives me to save though so that could be put down as an investment ;)

We're very relaxed here - this thread is more like a confessional about everything, not just spending ;)

Sorry to hear about your dad and your mom, that must be a big worry for you. One day at a time :o

Hiya PAP, good to have you back sweetie! Sounds like you had a ball which is what holidays are all about! I am glad you didn't count every penny like you normally do, letting your hair down every now and then is very advisable ;)

I did see your update on Tuesday but afterwards. I was just glad you checked in :D :T

Back on track from tomorrow eh :p
