(Can't imagine the Radio Times distribution centre is here mind you!)
Sorry. i realse it has been bad there, i was referring to most of England.
I have phoned and cancelled my subscription (i was going to anyway) and told them i was not continuing because of the delay in the christmas issue. All i got was an excuse saying there was a delay getting them out (nothing like stating the obvious) and they should be with us by next tuesday, 14th Dec.).0 -

Got this reply from Radio Times. Considering last year i got my copy delivered on the day they were due out in London (the saturday rather than monday in the rest of the country) this is a very poor excuse. On another forum people have had various reasons from RT, being snow, Royal Mail, along with logistical and bagging issues now.
thank you for your email
It is on its way. Our apologies there was a slight delay in getting it “bagged” for which we are sorry for any disappointment.
The Christmas issue is a mammoth logistical exercise for us. As we are a magazine of over 280 pages and print in 6 regional editions together with over 2 million copies…this takes up to 5 days non-stop printing at our printers.
Unlike other magazines who have a much smaller pagination and also distribution they can get their copies out a lot earlier. Therefore to ensure our readers get their copies as soon as possible, we release copies for sale as soon as they are available , thus our London edition (as this is the largest regional edition we produce) is the first and we transport as many copies to be distributed. It means that we cannot sell the copy in other regions until they are ready. Hence this is why we say “from” rather than “on”.
I am sorry if this causes disappointment. In the days when Radio Times was selling 10 million copies at Christmas then it was printed at plants all round the UK but this is just not possible now.
I hope this explains why there are sometimes delays to other areas of the country.0 -
