Here's the lemon cake for anyone who's interested

It was nice but not very lemony so I was a bit disappointed. I obviously need to do more drizzling in future. Ah well lesson learned (and eaten) ;)

Pay day from 2nd job here again today so off to do some money shuffling.

Help yourselves to cake ladies :D

Sooooooooo............. Payday from 2nd job. I worked 3 shifts last week and was paid £100.18.

The 18p was transferred to savings leaving a round £100.

£50 went to holiday savings (which are coming on nicely now) We have enough in there to pay for both DH and DS's passports and the ferry costs. Just need to save for petrol and spending money now. :j
The other £50 was paid off the loan. Not much but not bad either. I do need to get my act together if I am going to meet my May Challenge target though.

    May Challenge £162/£400

    £238 to go :o

    Yummy that cakes looks delicious!

You are doing a fab job. Great to hear your holiday fund is coming along nicely as well. I'm sure it makes it easier to pay off the debt when you know that you are also planning something lovely!

Ooohhh that cake looks tasty! :T Nice work lady! :D

Also - you don't seem to have noticed that you're actually AHEAD of target for your May challenge - work it out on a Per Day basis - and then keep on doing what you're doing, it's obviously working! :D:rotfl:

Brilliant work on the holiday savings too! :T

    Hmm I hadn't noticed. Let's see......

    £400 divided by 31 (days in May) = £12.90
    £162 divided by 9 (days so far) = £18 :T

    Okay maybe I am ahead.

I have £238 still to pay off so that would be

    £238 divided by 22 (days left in May) = £10.81 a day.

    Best get cracking ;)

This month I am saving £20 on DD's piano lessons as they are cancelled due to the bank holidays. So I just moved it to the loan instead.

    Hi Starnac,

Sounds like you are fighting on with the debt busting.

You are really in control of the figures which is fab- it will be gone in no time.

I need a bit of your motivation I think!

Hi OF I think the motivation comes from the realisation we can't live like this any longer. What has happened in the past is that our debt gets to a manageable amount and we take our eyes of the ball. That's what I'm afraid is going to happen here and I can't let it. It needs to be gone while the kids are still small. That way they won't remember the hard times (I hope).

They possible will, but it won't have as much impact on them as you think. They're clothed, fed, warm, and they have plentiful amounts of fun. That last is the one that kids remember above all else, and fun and money aren't necessarily that closely linked.

You're doing well - you really are, don't take your eye off the ball on that, either! :T
