I haven't got any motivation at the moment.
The minimum payment has gone out on the loan, so that's a £159.70 off the balance. DH was paid some overtime but not as much as we had thought. It may come through next month instead knowing them! But we had to spend the extra unfortunately. Our laptop died and I need it for work so we had to go and buy a new one. We did do quite a bit of research first and got a good price for what we bought but it was still an expense we could have done without.
Thankfully the overtime DH was paid did cover it so we didn't lose out in any way except debt overpayments. I know I need to be grateful for that but it's still been a bit disheartening knowing that money could have been paid off the loan.
DD's end of year dance show is coming up soon too so that's costing me quite a bit in costumes. I have been asked to make a few too so that's offsetting some of the cost but it's still a lot to pay out in such a short space of time.
I'm still working 3 days a week for the agency. My contract is until July. To be honest I think I made a mistake accepting another contract with them. As much as I enjoy the work and the extra money is useful, I feel like I'm neglecting everything else. My house is a mess all the time, I'm not spending as much time with the kids or concentrating on their needs. Take today for instance, DD needed to make a hat to take to school. As I've been working for the agency, I had to arrange meetings for my normal job in the evening rather than during the day like I normally do. Which means I was up at silly o'clock this morning making a hat. I had agreed to go up the school this afternoon to help them sort out some stuff before half term and while I was up there all the classes went into the hall for a parade of hats. Some of them were fantastic and I felt so sorry for DD that she had gone in with a last minute attempt when we could have spent time together making a good one had I not been working for the agencyI felt like a terrible mother. And a terrible wife so I've spent most of the evening tonight doing a mass tidy of the front room so that DH doesn't have to come home to a hovel yet again!!
Oh dear! This has turned into a right "woe is me" post hasn't it? I am grateful for everything I have believe me. I just feel so overwhelmed with everything right nowGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Aw lass, you sound worn out
have a hug (((())))) You are NOT a bad mother, or a bad wife, and you mustn't believe those things. You're working full time or even more at the minute and inevitably something has to give. You spend SO much time doing crafty stuff with your kids, one little hat (that you still made by hand, remember!) will fade into insignificance with time.
As for the state of your house, who cares? I'm sure it's not a rat infested hovel, and while you're working full time too perhaps the others in the house could be persuaded to lend a little hand with a few tasks? If not, I'm sure you'll all survive til you have more time again.
And the same with the debt payments - you still made thr minimum payments! :j Excellent work :j sometimes stuff happens and you were able to deal with it without going further into debt - what a triumph! :j :j

Aww thank you. I do feel pretty worn out. I would love to have one day where I didn't have to do anything or go anywhere. That would be utter bliss at the moment. Hopefully when the kids break up from school we can have a few of those days to recharge our batteries.
I've just been reading about the "wife bonus" in one of the big newspapers (online of course) Apparently it's a step back for feminism to accept money from your husband. It was an interesting read actually. To be honest I don't think so. I think it's a good way for men to recognise that running a home and bringing up children is just as hard as going to work everyday.
Maybe I should speak to DH about it :rotfl:
It's a pretty rubbish day here already. We are supposed to be going to a picnic but I really can't see that happening with this weatherMaybe that's a good thing though. We can have a quiet day here. Maybe.
It's half term here this week so no rush to iron uniforms and do homeworkGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
hahaha I have just read the wife bonus....I had considered mentioning to Hubby but realised he might stop doing half the cooking and may not sort the washing in the mornings when I go to work early :rotfl:
I hope you manage to recharge your batteries soon Starnac xOrange Fairy

We've had a lovely, if not tiring day today. The Eisteddfod (a massive youth Welsh language festival) opened today and in our town too :j We used to go as children every year, competing in various bits, so it was so exciting to be able to go as an adult and take my kiddies there. We spent about 4 hours there and we are all pooped now. DD and DS are watching something on youtube on the ipad and DH is snoozing on the other sofa :rotfl: I thought I'd try to do something useful so I made a small overpayment to the loan. Only £20 but it's better than nothing. I'm hoping to make another one by the end of the week too. We only need £150 ish to get below £2k and that would be "awesome" as DD says :rotfl:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

My 2 DDs competed every year when in primary school - sometimes won too. However cant say I miss the early starts and the long coach journeys and the over night stays with over excited 10 year olds and coming home with bags full of Urdd 'tat' - enough stationary to start a small branch of WHS !!!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

That was half the fun Igamogam!! :rotfl: Although I must say it was different going as an adult and I didn't have anyone competing as DD is still too young. Next year maybe? Had to both :rotfl: andat your mention of Urdd tat! Been there, done that, was tempted yesterday too
