Yesterday, a women rang my doorbell, showed me a badge, and said she was from Talk Talk. It took 10 minutes for her to finally give up. She had a pat answer for every objection. Even after telling her that I use override numbers, all of them depending on what country I'm calling, and that economically it wouldn't be worth switching, she persisted by saying that over 30 years it would add up. She then promissed a £1000 guarantee came with the change. Didn't tell me what the guarantee was for. Finally, told her that I only rent the property and that the lease states that I can't change any utilities including telephone. Owner lives on some island in the pacific and only has telex communciation. This line also works for people wanting to alter your drive way or cut your trees.
I do realise that is an old post from a recently boosted thread.

Unwanted callers at my door or on the telephone don’t get 10 seconds let alone 10 minutes.

I am reasonably polite but very firm. I just say something like….

….“I am not interested. Thank you for calling but please never call this number/knock on my door again. Good bye”

and I close the door as I say goodbye.

I don’t make up stories, invent excuses, debate the pros and cons with them. I don’t give them a chance to argue, I just say my piece and close the door or put the phone down. :)
  • Some People just dont think before they post hay why not move back to BT
than you can PAY more for your phone calls and then if you need help, CALL BT-India Or Orange-India, there all the same and the list goes on.
Maybe we should all look deeper to the root of the problem and you may see that BT own the lines and cause most of the hinderence when getting line provisions but if talktalk was run by one man and was a small company, it would be fine to have poor service. I think people look to blame someone if they become big, maybe this is a GOOD business money saving tip - dont get big or mistakes are looked down upon so when your team gets to 10 split it up in to lots of little one

    OR

Go in to one of their many stores for face to face help lol
like the BT, Tiscali, Sky, pipex Shops :rotfl:

    Cullin
