  • I had been with Tiscali, until I signened in with talk talk on May. To be honest I am happy with talk talk so far. On 9th of August suddenly my tiscali service was disconncted, therefore I phoned to Talktalk and they have connceted with them. Since then I am with talkatalk. But recently I realised that tiscali is still taking my fees every month, so that I cancelled my direct debit. Now they have sent a notice to me to pau the money and so and so. Can anyone be able to advice me how should I manage this situation?
  • In response to post from Aiadi on 24th. Please can you keep in mind that Carphone has thousands of good, honest people working for them who take alot of grief for the mistakes made by Charles Dunstone etc. Before anyone else says it, yes I am one of them, and belive me it frustrates us just as much as you but we have ABSOLUTELY no power over the issue.

Your comments about bankrupcy are ill thought out and frankly insulting to the many, many staff members of CPW who fight against the system and FOR our customers every single day.

Happily wishing for mass unemployement is not going to help any TalkTalk customers or solve any customer care issues.

I have had similar problems with TalkTalk and still experience daily sign in problems- therefore no service. I've given up phoning them as its so expensive.

I've looked at the HMCS moneyclaims site but I'm not eligible as i live in Scotland.

    1) Anyone point me in the right direction for pursuing an action via Scottish system?
    2) I presume that the Sale of Goods Act applies UK wide?

  • Ughhh! Don't get me started about Talk Talk. I cancelled my account with them in March and asked them for a paper bill as I would be emigrating in May. It took several calls and some really mindless suggestions from them on how to pay my bill at the post office before I got what I first requested. I was acctualy given, over the phone, a 20 digit bar code number to give the cashier at the post office. Obviously I didn't bother with that. The last person I talked to, I hammered it home, I will be leaving the country in 2 weeks, I need a final bill and a payment mandate or I can't pay. The request was fulfilled, almost 8 weeks after closing my account with them so I paid what I believed to be my final bill. Then in June, alsmot 3 weeks after arriving in America I got another bill from them at my parents home, they called and harrassed my mum so I told her just send anything back to them they send and hang up if they call, then I started getting emails. It took them almost 3 months to decide what my final bill should be and I susspect if I had complied and paid it they would have sent another. I complained via email a few times, still they insisted on payment. I guess they must have fianly realised I won't be paying ...... maybe I need a lawyer!

Surely you all signed up for talk talk knowing what they are like?

NO I very rarely buy or sign anything without consulting MSE and that policy has served me well, having been with a splendid little company that was then bought out I waited untill MSE recommended the deal T/Talk was offering, they nor I were to know that that T/T could not deliver. Remember littleange-com that hindsight is the best sight of all. Now as for IDliketobuyetc, I can honestly say that I never, not even searching as far as India, writing to head office ( recorded ) came remotely close to finding anyone willing to help.Tell Mr.C.Dunstone to copy Mr Blair get out before you are put out! No matter what, people will not forget the way they have been treated.

There was talk on MSE from the start that Talktalk might not be able to deliver and people talking of bad previous experience with talktalk. I for one read them as a freind was interested and I told them it looked too risky, however another friend took up the deal and has had no problems, so its not all bad.

Don't get me wrong I don't like all these big corporations who don't care about you and keep taking your money when you have cancelled etc, however all people seem to think about is suing people these days, fair enough to get your money back but to claim extra too??, and as idliketobuyafishlicence pointed out theres more things to consider, if all customers sue talktalk and they have to shut down due to lack of funds, thats a lot of people out of a job.

The way I see it from all the talk about talktalk from the start that anyone signing up was taking a risk.

But this is just my opinion...

    Cullin,
Good work... as a reasonably satisfied customer of TalkTalk (cut off since 16th Oct to 28th) am pretty pi**ed off however....as you with the Blo**y Indian call Centre Bull**it... can hardly understand what they are saying...
..excuses..excuses...another number bulls**t and then get cut off.
I beleive they are having severe difficulty with the BT Loop scenario but their customer service is absolute SH**
If they are able to get over this initial hurdle, they will be the best value in the market. I will stick with it for the interim as value is what attracts me.

Your right of course but I had signed up with Onetel when it was in it's infancy and promising to be a pretty good company. They were pretty good too, all issues I had were dealt with fast and professionally. Shame they had to sell out to a unprofessional operation like Talk Talk.

Took a phone call yesterday to tell me they T/T were settling my claim in full, cheque arrived this morning, without liability etc etc, when spoken to by very polite person I stressed that for me this was not about money, I am not in the sue every body society nor the p--s taking one when it concerns me, which is what I felt T/T were doing. I asked the lady that phoned me if she could answer me that when the £2 connection line advised us to phone back because all their operators were busy were we charged £2,she did not know. Please do NOT let me be the ONLY ONE!!!!!
