    Hi Cullin,

Well done - I would like to do the same as I too have been let down pretty badly by these people and my struggles with them continue. Any chance of a 'step-by-step' guide on what you did to get this far?

    Thanks

The Small Claims track of the the County Court is brilliant. It can be done online (https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk or something similar). It costs about 10% of the amount claimed and this is added to the claim, so if you win you get it back.

The form is easy to complete, what more are you waiting for.....take action!!!

Yesterday, a women rang my doorbell, showed me a badge, and said she was from Talk Talk. It took 10 minutes for her to finally give up. She had a pat answer for every objection. Even after telling her that I use override numbers, all of them depending on what country I'm calling, and that economically it wouldn't be worth switching, she persisted by saying that over 30 years it would add up. She then promissed a £1000 guarantee came with the change. Didn't tell me what the guarantee was for. Finally, told her that I only rent the property and that the lease states that I can't change any utilities including telephone. Owner lives on some island in the pacific and only has telex communciation. This line also works for people wanting to alter your drive way or cut your trees.

hi, rubrub my issue of the summons stemmed from my statements already listed it really does come down to logging the dates of your own misfortune created by T.T. lack of skill and expertise on their side of the agreement which lead you to sign up in the first place which they have in my case clearly not complied with 1982 Supply of Goods and Services Act. I must stress and recommend the advice I was given by the Trading Standards Office. hope this helps regards cullin

rubrub just to give you a little more confidence the 1982 Supply of Goods and Services Act IS THE LAW OF THE LAND so nothing T/Talk or Anyone else put in their small print can over rule THAT. regards cullin

    Well done Cullin

If they don`t cough up pronto
    send the bailiffs round.

I successfully issued a small claim against Thomson Holidays.
What really made me laugh was very often they never answered my letters or took up to eight weeks to respond.
Funny, the day they received the court summons they were straight on the phone offering a full settlement.

Take them to court,it`s the only thing they understand.

Useful post here about how someone made a claim against them.

  • Cullin,
Exactly the same thing happened to me in August - they transferred my connection from my previous provider, and neither party informed me of the change. Then had to phone India to get my login instructions.

To this day, I am yet to receive any sort of documentation or communication from TalkTalk confirming my connection or my login details.

Not sure what you would do if you were a new broadband user - presumably wait three months to receive your free modem so you can actually use the service!

I took ntl to the small claims court in Reading a few years ago for poor service and shoddy workmanship when they caused damage to my home while installing their equipment and won.

I received £520 plus my costs and interest. So it does pay to sue the rotters when they really mess you about.
