I did once make an apple pie with cheese, from a recipe in a magazine I think, but it wasn't well received :( and so I didn't keep the recipe or ever make it again.
    The ST cheese sounds nice.
    The apple crumble sounds nice.
But I don't think they would be a success together somehow. Even though apple and cheese go well together in their raw state.
But, I've been wrong before, so the only way to find out is for you to make it and see :) I'll watch with interest.

After all no one else on here is probably even gonna buy such a ridiculous sounding *coffs* I mean, new exotic variety of cheese :D let alone cook with it

You're bravely going where no chef has gone before :rotfl:just so long as you let us know the results ;)

I think the cheese would be lovely.

I eat "stilton with apricots", which is delicious. Many of my friends eat cheese with fruitcake.

    Go ahead and make it.

It seems wrong to me too but I have heard of apple pie with cheese - so a crumble should be just the same. IIRC the cheese was in with the apples.

So the real point of posting - whatever you do with it maybe its worth going half and half (ie half the dish with the cheese included and half without) just incase its not as fab as it seems?
The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese
  • GO FOR IT MR B !!!!!
i THINK IT'LL BE A HUGE BOOST FOR THE CULLINARY WORLD (AND POSSIBLY THE SALES OF STC IN MORRISONS !)
NOTHING VENTURED, NOTHING GAINED (WELL MAYBE A FEW POUNDS IN THIS INSTANCE WITH THE CHEESE - EVEN BETTER )

You could make a one portion sized crumble that way if its not good you don't have to worry about too much waste, use the recipe already given, mix the cheese in with the apples (cooking) and just use 1/4 of the ingredients.

    Good luck

    Sam

PS The thought of that cheese makes me feel sick!

It`s a shame we dont have a streaming video of this cooking with weird cheese.I`m not really a cheese person and can only manage mild chedder and to be honest the pic of the STC looks awful.Although it may taste lovely,I would put it into a lovely apple crumble.

Has anyone Googled STC and seen if it brought up any recipes?

There must be something exotic you can do with it.Looks far too fancy just to be stuck on top of a cracker.

Au contraire hazzie, I think it's so fancy it could only belong on top of a cracker...

It's just that by definition crumble should be well, crumbly

Like others on here I can't imagine eating lovely buttery crumble and then finding a cheese 'bomber' in it (bombers are massive blobs of mustard I put in my ham sandwiches that make my eyes water :D)
