I still don't know what the outcome is but if my money is returned i will be most annoyed as i did everything possible to check that the bond was still open before i set up the CHAPS transfer.
  • Hi,

To confirm, the 1 Year E-bond at 3.45% was withdrawn last night and replaced with a 1 Year E-bond at a new rate. All our bonds are subject to availability and can be withdrawn at short notice which we do state on our website.
Customers who have opened the 1 Year at 3.45% have 7 days (up until midnight on 11th October) to add additional investments to their accounts, from this date the product becomes a closed issue.
I apologise for any confusion, but all customers who have opened an account at the 3.45% rate will receive an email today to inform them of the deadline.

    Kind regards,

    Sam

can you advsie as to why on my 3.45 ebond homepage that i go onto when i look at my account details it doesnt give the intrest rate. it just says its unavailable.
  • Hi LGG,

Until funds have been deposited into an account the rate will not be displayed instead it will say 'rate not yet applied'. This is because some accounts have tiered rates depending on the amount invested. Therefore if you have not yet deposited money that will be why. However if the rate is not available once you have deposited money then please contact Skipton Direct on
0845 850 1722 who will be able to assist you further.

    Kind regards,

    Sam

I'm sure I'm not alone in being unaware that such a thread as this existed. (It was like a bright flash a year ago and then seemed to disappear.)
Bearing in mind MSE Andrea's comment in the original post that she would like Skipton BS queries redirected here, why was it never made a 'sticky'?
