  • I have recently received a welcome letter and pass book for my 5% Regular Saver Account. It details a long account number as well as a short (4 digit) account number. How do I go about paying into this account as I haven't been informed which account number to pay into or what the sort code is?

Having previously had several regular savings accounts with various other banks, not informing customers on opening how to pay into their regular save account seems bad practise to me, personally.

Send payments to the account detailed here: http://www.skipton.co.uk/savings_and_investments/
using your account number as the reference - that's the 9 digit number not the 4 digit number.

And thank you Skipton for making those details much easier to find on the website.

Ditto. I was just about to make a similar post. I opened an account this month and received the same information as you. I don't fancy having to send a cheque every month, it would be easier to make an online payment but need a sort code.

Thanks for that. I could not find this information myself.
  • Following on from Milarky’s post I can confirm that the Regular Saver paying 5.00% gross pa/AER will be withdrawn by end of business on Friday 10 December. A new Regular Saver will be launched at 3.25% gross pa/AER. The 5.00% gross pa/AER version was a Limited Edition account and all promotional material, both in branch windows and online, encouraged customers to act now due to the limited nature of the offer.

At Skipton we always like to offer our customers competitive rates and occasionally we launch marketing leading rates – but these can’t be on offer indefinitely. The 5.00% gross pa/AER Regular Saver has recently been removed from our website but you can still open an account in branch until Friday.

    Thanks,

    Samantha

The interest rate on the Regular Saver is variable. So can you confirm that the interest rate for those who opened an account when the rate was 5% is still 5%. When savers check the interest rate on the website, how can we distinguish between the two regular savers, or is there only one regular saver and the rate has now dropped? I'm confused.

You need to look at the closed issue interest rates - it's still 5%

    Hello baby boomer,

We have a clear plan to effectively manage the pension deficits in our Society and its subsidiary business Connells. This was outlined in our most recent Annual Report & Accounts from 2009 - here's a link http://www.skipton.co.uk/about_us/pdfs/report_accounts_2009.pdf (it's on page 25).

Members can also rest assured that there is no cause for concern as the Society remains financially strong, with good levels of capital and liquidity, and further details of our positive performance are also outlined in the Annual Report & Accounts.

    I hope this helps,

We haven't seen an answer to this yet.

Perhaps when the folks at Skipton return after Chrsitmas the could put MarkFromMullion's, mine and other follower's minds all at rest with an answer.

    Cheers!
