Skipton 1 year 3.45% Bond closed

Those of you who have taken out the Top Buy Skipton 1 year 3.45% eBond and intend to add extra funds be warned - that issue is now closed. A one year eBond is available at 3.2%.

This 3.45% Bond closed sometime during today ... sadly i transferred a significant sum by CHAPS today (cost £25 plus journey to Santander branch as not possible to set up CHAPS on phone or internet) and MAY have missed the cut-off.

The sympathetic chap at the call centre did not know when it was closed other than that it was sometime today and further he does not know if my money will be accepted or not - I can only wait and check my account online in the morning! If it is not accepted it will be returned to Santander by BACS so I will have lost £25 plus interest on the money probably for 5 days as no doubt the weekend will intervene!

I did check last night .... not a happy bunny!

The 'sympathetic chap' - who is called Richard - has called to say that provided funds are rec'd within 7 days then that will be ok. So if you have a bond and want to add to it - get on with it!!

i just got an email from them. (i opened the one year bond up a few days back) saying that the account closes at midnight next tuesday the 11th. so money has to be deposited by then.
