You know what I found a great motivator, a white board, a large peice of paper will do just as well.

As we each wrote down each job to be done and then did it , we crossed it out, the whiteboard filled very quickly and we all used to charge round doing different jobs, great system, gives everyone a sense of achievement and also got my (initially reluctant to help out) hubby to join in.

In fact after a while he instigated it and we used to all get home on a friday evening and have a massive purge/clear up....setting us up for the weekend.

What a flipping morning, managed to get the kids to sunday school. Car reading -10. Then when i went to lift them, the car skid on the lane and out onto the road. Thankfully nothing was coming and i didn't hit the fence. :o:eek:

Then on the way back a man was trying to put a horse into the field (why when there is no grass, i don't know) the horse off with the man holding the lead. The man let go of the lead and fell flat on his front, the horse shot out onto the main road. We have a new road built so most of the traffic is on it so this road is pretty quiet but if i had have been a couple of seconds later the horse would have been out in front of me. I think i shall go back to bed until the snow is gone. :rotfl:

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Absolutely no flying here today, as its my hoppy barfday....OH had the paths cleared and gritted and 2 loads of washing done by the time I got up! We were going out for dinner, but couldn't be bothered facing the snow and ice, so have just decluttered a large Indian takeaway, and I am sitting here sipping a glass of wine eyeing up a bag of percy pig sweeties and wondering if I should start reading one of my new books......life is hard, but hey-ho!:)

    Many belated happies.

    Thanks, that's lush!

jojo if memory serves me, isn't the bloke a fairly recent addition? If he's not responding to training, should you chuck him back in and catch another?? Hugs.

dusty many schools use !!!!!philes as an excuse not to have annoying parents wrecking plays with injudicious use of flash photography. When I was 14, we had a party at the parish hall, paid for and booked and cleared up appropriately. The local paper took photos of us sitting on the lawn there with cans in hand (weak lager) but to make us look really guilty they blacked out our eyes:rotfl: and your life will be fuller and happier if you don't read the Daily Fail. Honest!!

DD1 up all night puking (nice!) so have the mountain of sicky washing to contend with. Bought a new car yesterday - well new to me. And MIL has cancer that has spread. Not great, she's 81.

    valli excellent defrosting idea.

well I am using the fact that it' freezing outside to defrost my freezer - all the food is outside (bagged) keeping cold!
    Oh, that's a good idea.
Don't even need to go out - space between front door and inside sliding door will do. :T

    Morning all :D

Very cold and frosty here, apparently a high of 2 today:eek: I text ex and asked what he'd be doing with DD today, he said Geocaching. When he got here he'd changed his mind, it was -2 and he was frozen :rotfl: No idea what they'll be doing but DD is well wrapped up.

    Todays plan:
    - lists of what needs doing & when
    - Ironing
    - knitting of hat & scarf - done some more of the scarf
    - Vacuum through & scrub kitchen floor then put rug down.

Decorating To-do: (Italics are not urgent, but need to be done once the rest is done, preferably before the new carpets go in!)
    Paint DDs walls
    Paint my bedroom walls
Paint my bedroom walls again (painting magnolia over blue!)
    Paint hallway again x 2
Sugar soap all the gloss work (sanding where necessary)
    Paint gloss work
    Paint bathroom ceiling
    Paint bathroom walls
    Clear surfaces in livingroom
Fill cracks in ceiling & holes around pipework & any holes in wall from pictures

oh dear we have about 8 inches of snow overnight and its still snowing and we have thunder and lightning with it - most strange! I tried to go to church but there were no taxis or buses and I could hardly walk out my gate!!!
Dusty we have photo bans already in schools here but my nieces and nephew's school does take photos by an official photographer and usually a camcorder is used as well - as grateful says is does stop a lot of interuptions and everything flows better. its just such a shame that it is necessary.
hex I have everything crossed that it is thyroid troubles because that can be so easily sorted with medication - (((hugs))) what a shame after all your hard work of losing weight but it will come right again.

I kept frozen bread etc frozen in a box filled with snow last year (was in a bin bag first) worked a treat

Dw on, salt in sink (using Dw salt and just allow to dissolve gradually) WM on, brekkie done and eaten, TD on so hopefully all washing will be up to date when Ds2 gets home for his manky cubs stuff. Got him some spare clothes out ready too. Missed him even more this time so can't wait to collect him.

Right, kitchen needs more work. I've bagged a load of rubbish which all must go in bags now as our bins haven't been emptied and goodness knows when they will be, waited 5 weeks last year and this has started early so I might end up doing tip runs again if it's open.
One day I might be more organised...........

Sounds great Triker. Did have a clear out not long ago, so not much clutter, just stuff that I've not unpacked since we moved in the summer (hangs head in shame!) or items that haven't been put back. With Christmas presents raising their heads its getting worse. Have done as much as I can in the dining room today - so will be posting things next week. Have put the two chairs in the kitchen on freecycle and am just about to dejunk the kitchen table so it can go into the garage.

Am setting myself up with a HUGE pile of paperwork and things to sort through this afternoon, but I'll find a good film on the TV - or video to watch as I do it. Now to kick OH to put up my wall hanging and to put up the baskets in the kitchen - even if we use one of the baskets for junk its less of a space to have to clear every week. xx (Have sent youngest son to kick OH!!!)
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
