Morning Jue - are you enjoying having Jerry at home! Bet he's delightful!

As for me its the final 750 words of the assignment to write, a break and a walk up town to check out the 75% off books at WHSmith then a final finish off while the tennis is on also fitting in a dog bathing session and washing his stuff then full service resumes next week. The house has paperwork all over the place but it won't take long to tidy this up, thankfully

Oh yes, better fit some HHI in too

Morning all - am fed up with constantly tripping over things, not being able to find paperwork and having the house looking like a chinese laundry. So have decided to sort my life / house out today. I have the makings of a good filing system but life gets in the way all the time! My two very energetic boys don't help (they're only 6 and 5 but still!) and my OH is useless - he doesn't even put his things in the empty dishwasher -.

Does anyone have any hints and tips that they could offer that might help me get on top of things once and for all before Christmas? Today I'm going to tackle the main living areas and the bedrooms, leaving the dining room and garage until another day. As I go I'll be making three piles - sell, donate and bin and I'll pass by the skips on the school run tomorrow morning, then on to the charity shops. Really need to crack this before Christmas.

Reason this is Old Style is because I am sure that I have extra stocks of toilet rolls stashed somewhere, extra pairs of curtains that I can use to line my normal curtains - or sell them. I need to raise some cash for paying the normal January bills and could do with a couple of empty cupboards! So any hints and tips will be much appreciated.

    Thank you x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Join this week's Flylady thread, which will start off this evening :) Do level 1 jobs this week, levels 1 and 2 next week, and all 3 levels in the following week :)

Tough but do-able - your house didn;t get into a state in a week, so it's unreasonable to expect to solve this in a week ;)

Get your litlies invloved, and make it into a game, with small rewards :j

And give OH a kick up the jac$£*e and get him at least clearing his own carp

    Good luck :T

  • Sounds like you need the flylady thread!

You also need to train your OH to pull his weight, sounds like you've got 3 children on your hands at the moment. Don't be his mother, he needs to at least set a good example to your boys

Dusty - that link - words fail me....

Cold again this morning but I have to venture out in a mo - the chickens are grumbling that they want their breakfast. It's about time they gave me an egg or two for my breakfast!

No plans for today except I need to do some writing, some editing and some washing. I'm going to wallow in the bath first...

no tips, but need the advice too ~ I seem to spend half my life detooting.

I dandied with Flylady once, will try again.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

    Morning all

Another cold one for us all. I've lit the fire already as the living room is still cold with 3 radiators on.

I've changed the lightbulb above my computer today so far and fed the mogs.

I'll do a HHC in the kitchen concentrating on the hot spots and then work my way through the downstairs of the house. Need to get the christmas cake mix and cooking this morning too.

Make a list of 'jobs' for you, your OH, and your kids - age appropriate of course. Put on some good moving music and be ruthless!

One more tip - do you need to declutter? You can't tidy up if you have clutter - you just move it around :o

I do speak from bitter experience. I'm a hoarder, come from a family of hoarders and married a hoarder :p

Decluttering and Old Style Flylady sorted me out, and I can now keep on top of it all, bt it took me months :)
