Thats awfull, happens everywhere it seems these days. A good few years ago now i took a camcorder to the swimming pool to film my DS on his first trip to the pool. Only from the viewing area, I hadn't even thought (stupidly) that there might be a problem with it. I got a big telling offeven though the baby pool was empty at the time.
Although my lot don't go to school we still have issues within the home school group we attend with regards to photos. Everyone has to sign an agreement for their child to be photographed just to cover us.0 -
Dusty, I might have a bit of a 'different' view. About 6 years ago we had a man who was a previously convicted child sex offender living locally to us. What this brought to us was the harsh reality he was at our childrens performances, photographing them and published these in addition to many others on !!!!!phile websites on the internet - not good. We didn't find out he was a previously convicted offender until his son disclosed images he'd seen, if he haddn't done this we may never have known. For this reason I am not against parents taking photographs but I am extremely cautious. I am also aware some parents were VERY angry last year when parents posted photographs of their children with other peoples on social networking sites, forums etc without permission of other parents. I know I would be annoyed if someone else posted images of my children without my consent but I see it happen all the time, if they have permission or not I don't know. My friend fosters a little girl and her birth parents who are prevented from seeing her found out where she was at school as someone they know seen photos on someone elses FB and they turned up at school. Opens a huge can of worms IMO.
Anyway we've popped out tonight for a little while, recovered a few cars while out and about. Friend treated to hot chocolate which is of course nice. Luckily I never had issues last year or this year with my car. I do however know that any car, whatever it has on it or is will skid on ice. Had some silly fun with friends, sledges and speed bumps in an empty industrial estate too, big kids! Managed to do a few things before we went out but did end up in an arguement with DP on the way home about money. As I've said and said last year I am aware it's not his fault, there is nothing he can do but he MUST realise suggesting dinner out tomorrow will make me cringe as we're going to have to prepare for the worst. He has absolutely no realisation when it comes to money so there is no point arguing with him I suppose.
Tomorrow I need to collect DS2, we tried a couple of the roads tonight that are part the way there so we know roughly which to avoid and alternatives to take as we must collect him. Think we will be setting off earlier. Going to pop a steak casserole in the slow cooker so we have a hot meal to come back to.
Hope you all have a nice Sunday, don't think I will be able to pop on much xxOne day I might be more organised...........

Lil_me thanks for your view. They sound like sad and shocking cases. The photos of the little girl is difficult but so hard to protect. What if she is at a children's party and photos are taken or as she gets older by friends with phones, we can't protect against everything can we?What this brought to us was the harsh reality he was at our childrens performances, photographing them and published these in addition to many others on !!!!!phile websites on the internet - not good.
I have no understanding of such people but would they really be intersted in kids in costumes in a school play?
Not arguing with you hun, just trying to understand how real the risk is.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

The dusting has been a half-hearted affair...in theory I'll be sanding stuff down soon or cutting wood so there will be another thick layer by the time the rooms come around again :rotfl:
Right now I'm off to bed. Beds will be stripped & remade tomorrow & I MUST have a bath since I'll be ripping up the carpet grips on the stairs tomorrow. They're metal angled ones and I need to use a screwdriver & hammer to get behind the nails to get them off. Not a job to be done after a tiring day at work.
Night night all. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Dusty I have no understanding of the way they see things either, it was described to us as an unnatural interest in young children using both pornographic and non pornographic materials, that uniform was of particular interest. When I asked someone qualified in criminal psychology she said there was a huge link with uniforms/dressing up. Protecting the youngster in foster care isn't possible if people take an image, if she attends a party the parents are made aware that no pictures should be used on the internet (or in media) I would hope parents would always gain permission anyway, I know my sister and I request each others permission for every image. Images in her school uniform or tagged as a school are much worse as they give the parents a target other than home which is well protected. Schools aren't secure enough to be safe enough for her to be known as attending a specific school and she's had to be moved. She isn't allowed out to play unsupervised anyway at present. When she is older I am sure that bridge will be crossed and she'll be a little more mature enough to be told/deal with having no contact from her parents and why so she will know to alert someone. At the moment she is too young for that. One day I might be more organised...........

Oh I forgot to mention, this is important
IF YOU MIGHT NEED RECOVERING IN YOUR CAR - It makes it much easier to attach a rope if your towing eyes are uncovered and if it's a seperate hook copper grease it, screw it in and leave it in until the end of the bad weatherI don't mind pulling cars out but it makes life so much easier if there is something easy to access to get it hitched onto, can you tell I froze my hands off tonight accessing a towing eye
