Back from the gym and just had lunch. I was going to go into town before heading to the hspital but it is cold and I am a wimp. I might just sit here for a bit with a cuppa and then go up to the hospital early. I want to get a magazine and favourite chocs for OHs dad and the car park always fills up really early for visiting so I'm going to sit there so I get a space.

short_bird we have some boxes for that purpose anyway and the gramophone is in one of those cabinets so I might see if they will all fit in what we have got already. The problem is OH has been hiding his paperwork to tidy it away in there, oh well, looks like he will be doing some decluttering later :rotfl:

KazW Ours is usually around the 2kg mark, what rules are there on taking meat across countries?
    Hellyboo great news
PenPen I hope it stays clear for him, for goodness sake don't divert him north!!

More snow here but my clearing then DW salt down has kept the path free out the front so far. I'm a bit bored of it now.....not impressed they said it might last 2 weeks....pah

Been shopping this morning for some fresh things and healthier snacks for DP, bits and pieces for the rest of us and some items for DS2

This afternoon got a short meeting 2pm-3.15pm (not far from school) then home to make tea which I have just fully prepared and should only take 5-10 minutes to reheat, then pack DS2s stuff to take him to camp. It's only about 25 mile away so shouldn't be too bad. DP wants me to drop my 4x4 off after and take his front wheel drive car home so he has it there to get home, hmmmm, not sure how I feel about that one. He's cancelled his club on Sunday, think he got fed up last year of driving through snow for nobody else to bother. DS1 now booked out for 4 hours tomorrow which will keep him busy, he usually spends all camp weekends saying when do we pick him up!

Right, best go get sorted for this meeting & cover dinner over. Hope you all stay safe and snuggly warm x
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Looking at kitchen sides with silent desperation today. I presume there is something underneath the dirty crockery that is holding it all up.

Why is it that, when according to The Bloke, he does everything in the house, if I don't personally touch the kitchen or the clothes washing, we disappear under tons of cpra within 24 hours?

Found my way into DD1's college computer record totally by accident last night . It would appear that her desperate need to get away from me and my rules to ensure her success at college (as I was destroying her life and sanity by using her as a slave among other things), leading to her 'escaping' to FW's place - has made it even worse. She is about to be kicked out of college for not bothering to show up or do any work.

On contacting her father again, he had to take the call because he picked up for a change. Usually someone else answers, which means he refuses to speak. He denies outright that there is a problem. Everything's fine, all perfect, now his 'babby' is with him and 'her real family' again.

Such a shame. I hope she sorts herself out/grows up in the end. I'll be here, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for her.

Anyway, I am not touching anything other than the kitchen today, especially as I have finally hauled myself to the GP about my neck causing constant migraines and she has prescribed me super strong painkillers and made a referral to the hospital. She said 'I should tell you to stop playing bass, but I know that's wasting my time'.

Now the sun is shining, the cat has come shivering in from the icy crunchiness of the back garden and I can see the windows need cleaning again.

Meh. Time for more coffee and a bit more Marvin - or James Jameson, to be more accurate.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

You need to think about storing 78's in smaller quantities and in something to keep them upright due to their very fragile nature: those old record players that looked like furniture had solid dividers that went the full width of the cabinet for that purpose.

Yes, 78s are fragile (and heavy).
Mmm you have a record cabinet - with paperwork hidden in it - and need proper storage for records - must be a solution there somewhere ;)
