grrrrrrrrr what a day i've had so fr.
Frelander alarm went of at 3 this morning ecause an avalanche o snow fell of the roof opposite and landed on roof so Oh had to et up ad deal with it. So far so good.
Went to go shopping this morning and discovered car had a broken side passenger window and smashed back windscreen. Turned out the avalanche of snow and brought the guttering pipe down with it an that was what had se the car alarm off. Autoglass on their way, just waiting for a phone call.
And (ths bit was funny) for a day or 2 now the parrot has been strugglng to say something new, i havent been teaching him anything but they tend to pick up bits of conversations and repeat what they hear regularly. The other day i was watching an old Carry On movie, which featured a talking mynah bird (they are prolific talkers too). And I was greeted this morning with a loud and clear "Ello Darlin', show us yer knickers".
    OH was :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: literally.
Me........! Mortified to say the least.
But I suppose I have to laugh too lol.
Robert )parrot) is colourful enough with his metaphors. I inherited him from elderly uncle who had taught him some choice swear words. but this takes the biscuit.
Things can only get better lol:rotfl::rotfl:

  • Oh Fantasia, I have had such a chuckle about the parrot... that is so funny that it focussed on something so risque!

Bad luck about the car windows - hope Autoglass turn up quickly.

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

OMG you have no idea with parrots you just never know what you will hear lol.
Can't think of anything else at the moment, he's perched on my shoulder, as i type, nibbling my earrings.
Not something I encourage as he has a habit of indiscriminately pooping where ever he happens to be lol.
Would'nt be the 1st time i've had my shoulder or head christened.

Oh yeah just remembered, one time a while back we were having some plumbing work done and of course the workman just had to approach the cage and say something about "Does Polly want a cracker"
Robert promptly replied by biting his finger (workman stuck it in the cage after being warned not to)> Then he told the plumber "Oi you fook off, you're a Muppet."

    How embarrassing

    Glad you got home FW

And fantasia - bummer about the car windows but love the story about the parrot

Well - drive has been cleared & we took my car out to play. I saw people & civilisation for the first time since last Friday :j
2 tonnes of logs have been delivered & thrown into kennel
Bread is on - and seems to be rising with the fresh yeast
Hob nobs have been made - I found the mixture a bit dry so do I just increase the marg/syrup or do I increase the amount of water? Anyhow - DH was well impressed & we even have some left......
Time to slob in front of telly now as I am knackered

I love the parrot stories - I think the parrot, like toddlers, have the knack of saying what we are thinking but would never dare say.

Parentals have just headed off after decorating with the boys - so we are all Christmassy here. Sent them home with a jar of mocha coffee and a dozen hob nobs - Very happy Dad!!!!

Managed to run out to LIDL whilst they were here (too much faff to struggle around with the buggy). This weeks shopping was a whopping £13.17. This is one New Years resolution I am carrying forward, Meal Planning combined with shopping for storecupboard bits from Approved Foods is a hit in this house.

Did a freezer inventory - and realised that I really don't need to cook very much between now and Christmas at all - YIPEE!!!! Mum was most impressed at me rustling up spag bol for five at lunchtime in the 10 minutes it took to cook the pasta.

Drawn the curtains and pulled out the blankets - but although it says its 0c the heating is not on yet.

But the house does look lovely
