I've never got around to reading Mikes thread but I have this mental image of Mike as a transvestite who becomes Lisa sometimes:rotfl:
I'd love some answers to that phone question too. I'm thinking iphone or blackberry probably.
There are a few nice big screened phones which do internet well...
Iphone, and androids (i.e. HTC, Samsung) and the newest one is the HTC phone which runs windows...
I have tried i-phone, and I have a HTC Desire (android). I like them both. I got the HTC because it was £15 on contract per month rather than the i-phone which is about £40 a month (either with an upfront payment + £25 a month, or no upfront, and £40 a month (or so)).
The newest HTC runs windows, so will be similar to your PC. I haven't tried it.
Blackberry does have an internet browser I beleive, but again, I have never tried it, so don't feel qualified to comment.
HTH x
Lisa/Mike isn't a transvestite... I think he used an old gf's log in because he didn't think anyone would read his thread... funny thingx

Fantasia. Rob is so funny and typical. Does he scutter under his breath when he is learning something new. OH had been trying to teach Coco to say Shysters for months but to no avail. Had the inlaws to stay for Christmas last year and just as the Queen's Speech came on the radio Coco shouted Oi Shyster. Well I choked on my sprouts!!!!
Coco is very good with the pooping - he tends to fly back to his cage and shouts "Poopie in the cage" as he does it.
I can never be miserable with him around.
Oh yeah, scutters and mispronounces as he's learning, and also kind of invents his own stuff with the vocabulary he already has.
I reularly hear "I'm the hardest MUPPET in Fife" instead of "parrot in Fife".
Love the "oi Shysters" total classic at the Queens speech :rotfl::rotfl:
have so tried to 'housetrain' Robert, (Bobby at the moment because he is being very good and hasnt repeated the knickers thing since 3 0'clock lol).
Thing is though they are such attention lovers, if you laugh (which is inevitable at comic genius) they say it all the more because the attention is what they crave.
Any suggestions about 'cage' training.????????
I say 'cage' but its so big its more like an indoor aviary lol.
If we try to teach Robert something, it takes about 3 days of reinforcing and he usually 'gets it' (if he's in the mood).
But the stuff he picks up is so totally random its unbelievable.
OH regularly pays bills over the phone and he has OH's a/c number perfect but 3 of the digits are in the wrong order. (thank goodness) Unbelievable sometimes.
they say you get what you pay for, but with African greys, i think they are priceless x0 -

With the house training I started as a baby. If you watch you get to know their body language and can tell when they are about to do it. As a baby when I spotted him hunkering down I would take him to the cage and say poopie in the cage (also a big aviary) and when he went I would clap and sing and say Good Boy (like you say they love attention) so when he goes over there himself I make a big fuss of him. Thats all I did really. He does have accidents sometimes. He is currently telling the dog to shut up.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Oh MG, DS2 is just soooooo cute. Loved today's story about the biccies :T
Firewalker - Glad everything went well and you coped well with the travelling under difficult circumstances. Look forward to hearing more about it.
Fantasia - Grrrr to snow damage, glad the windscreen people have it in hand but shame it won't be water tight until tomorrow.
Robsmum - You really are gem, always helping others. We should all take a leaf out of your book.
Parrots - Keep the stories coming ladies, love them all :rotfl: My Mum used to tell a story of two maiden aunts who lived together and were left their brother's parrot. He was ex Merchant Navy and the parrot's language was a bit choice. When the vicar came to tea they used to put the parrot in his cage and put the cover on but it just seemed to make him worse
Already checked DT's thread, wasn't expecting updates through the day, very exciting :j Souk, you are doing a great job so far, hope tomorrow goes as well :j
For those that have the time, Mike's thread is a very good read, especially if you skip some of the silliness. It just shows how a community can come together and help someone in need, even through cyberspace. A lot of good friendships have come from it too although my OH's face when I told him I was going away for a couple of days to meet up with a few people I had met on the internet was interesting. Bless him though, he didn't try to stop me
Hope everyone has had a good day, positive thoughts to those that need them.
Off to do my 15 minutes on the other side:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
