Morning all, here you are all are!
Boddy, I am thinking of you today and glad that you found the strength to read the poem. I do so admire you in doing this. What a lovely way to say goodbye. My sister and I decided at the last moment to carry my Mums coffin with my brothers, nephew and my OH. It was hard but I felt so proud of us all for working together for her one last time.
Well done everybody on the kits for kids.
Sadly I wont be able to make it to Didsbury for a cuppa tea after the workshops. Apparantley OH and friends have "plans" for my birthday! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Boddy - thinking of you today; be gentle with yourself
Winky - do we have a little winky-ette yet?
Hugs going out to Tuppence and anyone else who needs one.
Well done all you K4K stars - what is the final total looking like?0 -
We are having a strange experience with my cat. My brother and sister in law are here staying. For all the years they have been coming the cat has hated being in the house with my brother and cried fiercely to get out. Lived out side till brother went back. He was badly treat when young. This week although the cat has been outside he is happy enough in the house beside my brother. He has also been sleeping in the spare room with me. Very strange.
Boddy, I'm so sorry about your mum. I hope the funeral is beautiful and gives you some strength, and that your poem reading goes well.
With regard to the cat, I have found that animals are very sensitive to death/grief, and it could be your cats way of comforting you all, even your brother. My dog is from a shelter, and she can be a bit funny with men she doesn't know (we think she was mistreaded when she was younger, too), but when my dad died she behaved in ways that weren't quite 'normal', too. I think she's twigged that your brother is in no fit state to be mean to her at the minute, and that he's safe to be around. Hopefully, she won't revert back to her old ways and it could be the start of a happy new relationship between them, once she sees he OK really.
Speaking of 'my dog', I've just come down to see that the mutt was digging in my suitcase last night and found the box of Green and Black's chocolate that a friend gave me as a belated birthday present. She's now lay up on the sofa like she has lead in her stomach. One is not amused!
All the best for the day, and the following ones, Boddy. xxxPlease call me 'Pickle'

OO you frightened me I thought there had been some major disaster:eek: store place burnt down or something :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The kits are arriving, they will be packed, they will be sent, they will be received, the kids will be happy - I don't see anything negative in that :A
I have a bin bag full coming tomorrow so can't do my total until then but so far I have 99 shirts plus shorts and socks so should be well over the 100 mark

Boddy: Thinking of you today.
Winky: Hope baby arrived now and your having a well earnt rest.
After feeling bleugh all weekend I got up when my alarm went off and thought" I'm throwing a sickie - I am exhausted" - sent boss lady a text, had some paracetomol and went back to sleep until 10.30:j I debated for a few minutes about not being able to afford to loose pay, but then decided it was better to loose a day rather than a week and listen to what I was feeling. Tuesdays are my day off anyway, so a couple of quiet days is what the Universe has ordered and is what's going to happen.Debt at start of DMP 1/6/09: £2942 - £1942

Sorry I have been missing for a while ladies & Gents, but have had some issues here that I have had to get my head around before coming on here and ranting
My DGD2 has recently been for an first assessment for Autism, (she is 21 months and cannot talk/interact) and whilst talking to the Dr, it emerged that her problems may be down to the environment she has lived in, due to her fathers abusive nature  Luckily he no longer lives with my daughter, but the damage is done, and it made me so furious to think that he may have caused her problems that I could not think straight  Anyway, enough before I go off on a rant again

So sorry to hear this. I'm not surprised you are angry. I would be exactly the same. Someone hurting one of 'mine' is a sin I cannot forgive.
On the positive side - now this has been suggested as a cause of your dg's problems hopefully the professionals can map out a pathway for her to try to reverse the effects. It may be a long journey for her but with time, love and appropriate care she may be able to get to a point where the effects of her early environment are far less than they are at the moment.
In the mean time a virtual big hug is winging its way across the ether from me to all of you.......
Sue
PS Many thanks for your good wishes.0 -
