    Thinking of you today Boddy. Hope you can celebrate your mum's life well with your family around you xx

    ~~~~~~fantasia~~~~~~~~ vibes for your step son.
    Tuppence, hope your grandaughter (and daughter) gets the help she needs.
    Still rather poorly here, but much better than the last few days. Stupidly didn't notice there was a new thread, that's how out of it I've been! :rotfl: Easing myself gently back into PhD today, still feeling rather delicate, but things are getting done :T
  • Oh dear - I'm sorry but this did make me smile :) reminds me of last week when I slipped in the corridor right outside the main office - I managed to get a nice friction burn on my tousers and knees and not one person from that office came to see if I was ok - I was dying of embarrasement especially as i was wearing a higher pair of shoes than normal which have now been relegated to my office drawer :(
    I have now reached the stage where I hope someone did see me and will come and help me to get up again. :rotfl:
    Fantasia, I am really wishing that your son gets the right outcome for him. No matter what the outcome is he now has a very good grounding in life and will have lots of strength to draw upon in the future. I have to admit to being a little teary reading your post. I have worked with so many young men who dont know what direction to go in but when the right light is switched on miracles happen.
    Clooties Mum, I am so sorry I am not really laughing at you , just with you :) And Scottishlass, did the colleagues not come to help because they were pretending not to have seen, sorry giggling so much now.
    I need some positive oomph and a kick up the behind sending my way. I was out of the office all week last week. Just had a presentation dropped on me for tomorrow, need to review my powerpoint and amend it to fit the audience, practice it and have it off to T. Trouble is my works computer has died. I have a raging sore throat, runny nose, headache and I have to confess to having just watched X factor results show whilst working and the Heroes song had me in floods of tears. I now look dreadful and feel even worse.
    I've been out (work travel) for the last couple of weeks and have a presentation to sort out, so how about we join forces and aim to get them out of the way? I don't have the cold, as mine is nearly gone, but I do have problems with my voice still, and one more client left to talk to today...
    I keep listening to the Heroes song, and blinking back the water. I haven't heard anything from DSS1 yet so am fingers, toes and everything else crossed that 'no news' in this case is 'good news'.
    Sorry to everybody as well, have been sitting here wallowing and not even acknowledged everyone else.
    Boddy hope today went the best it could go and that you have a little solace and comfort in celebrating your Mums life.
    To everyone who is feeling 'ropey' positive vibes coming to you all.
    I would hope Winky has her baby now and that she is relaxing and enjoying her new little girl.
    I am usually more alert than this, but dont think I'm going to be functioning properly till we get some news either way about DSS.
    How on earth did i manage to change my font:eek:
    Edit to say i feel the need for comforting food, so have ham, leek and tatty soup in the slowcooker.
    A whole meal loaf in the bread maker (thank you again sooooooo much for this)
    And a potato, onion & cheese savoury casseroling in the oven.
    Fantasia, you wallow as much as you need to do. Once the wallowing is done, you will be ready to pull yourself together and support others on here when they feel the need to wallow. I think it is great that we all have a place to be able to ask for support. We cant be strong all of the time but we can be positive even when we are feeling a bit low and that positivity needs a little kick start. Love the Heroes song.
    I really like the sound of your tea. All very comforting. I have macaroni cheese (leftovers from yesterday but I think it always tastes nicer the day after)
  • No news of Winky? I hope little one arrived safely today.
    Boddy, hugs and I hope all went as well as it could and that there was comfort amidst the tears.
    Fantasia, sending vibes for the best outcome for your DSS. Waiting is such hard work isn't it?
    Cheri sorry you have such a massive dose of the lurgy just before a big event. It takes such a lot of energy to keep going when under the weather.
    Clootiesmum, I couldn't help laughing at your predicament this morning, having done similar in the past myself. Sod's law... if there is mud to fall into, it will stick! In my case I went through the knee of my trousers and got laughed at by a group of spotty youths. Nowadays I'd be like Craftyscholar and ask them to help me up, but 20 years ago I was mortified :rotfl::rotfl:
    Thank you for the messages. It all went well. I did dissolve when I got up to read the poem but managed to compose myself. The poem was about roses in heaven so after I read it I put a single rose on her coffin. Just relaxing tonight and hopefully will sleep better.
