Started to rain - bah!!!!!! And DS2 and I were in the garden having a competition to see who could blow the biggest bubble with some homemade bubble solution. So we have decamped to the kitchen table where he is playing "clay" with some homemade play-doh - even though he insisted it was to be made pink!!!!
So come on on Mummies - what homemade stuff do you do to distract the little darlings when the cries of "I'm bored" appear?

Afternoon ladies - had real life getting in the way again the last few days so been AWOL again. Claire sounds like Jack is relatively full of beans to me - so I think you have your answer! I'm glad of it too - a lady whose blog I read daily has just had to have her cat of 20 years put to sleep - she blogged about it yesterday and boy was I in floods!
Crickett it clearly wasn't the right job for you then, no matter how much it appeared to be. Jump up and down, stamp your feet, call the interview selectors idiots a few times (or worse if you feel like it!) and then dust yourself off and move on. As for the current workmates - are they same-level colleagues (in which case it's a toughie) or are they staff you have responsibility over? How about having a charity "negativity box" - like a swear box, which people have to drop 20p a time into if they are found being negative, down etc? Perhaps everyone else feels as glum about their jobs as you do, in which case the negativity would be understandable perhaps?
MG Yeah, anaemia would explain a fair amount wouldn't it - at least you know who's got your mojo now anyway!
I have managed a fairly TA DA day so far in spite of having not got my to-do list that I wrote out yesterday as the email account I use at the office dies before I could send it, and never came back online before I left!

Picked MrEH's car up from it's MoT - got to go back to pay though as their machines have gone kaput at the moment - good job they trust us!
Popped into Sainsburys to get a refund on an item we were charged twice for at the weekend - thankfully refunded without a murmur as it was £7.39 worth!
Popped into Building Society to pay in another 5 bags of coins for the holiday account.
eBay item sent
Banking checked and money shifted as needed.
Egg account checked - thankfully this year they took the cashback off the balance rather than leaving in on the account as a credit.
Washing up done (twice!)

Avon flyers for next campaign just printing off now.

Beef Stew ready to pop in the oven for dinner.

Thanks EH. The people at that prospective job will have very red and hot ears after the names i have called them! :rotfl:
The real problem with my colleagues at my present job is that one is my boss and the other is my colleague and they are thick as thieves and spend most of their time whispering between themselves about stuff. :mad:Some of it is even to do with work, and I only know about it because I can read lips. Yes, I am serious. Makes me so angry, I could spit.:mad::mad:
However, I am asking the Universe to deal with this for me. When my colleague is off, things are a lot better. As my colleague is getting married later this year, i am asking for the Universe to provide her with a baby smartish thereafter and for her to take to motherhood with such a delight that she never comes back again. That's phrased positively, isn't it? Either that, or a brand new job. And preferably... both!! :rotfl:
Anyway, I am feeling better and have just ordered presents for Mothers Day for my Mum and my Mother in Law and a birthday present for my Father in Law. I have also arranged a day off on Friday so that hubby and I can sign the papers for the estate agent and get the house on the market. It's finally happening!
;)

To lose it Bitsy.
So you're body is in permament starvation mode - how come? That would suggest to me that you're not eating enough to kick start your metabolism. Forgive the stupid question but have you tried eating more than normal? If you diet you're just going to compound the whole weight thing.
MG - Have you tried junk modelling? Saving up empty boxes and containers to make models. Stuck together with sellotape or masking tape, I've had mindees make a train and then paint it.
Here are some websites which might have some more ideas for you

Hope there is something there to inspire you
Edited to add:
thought of some more things my lot like to do
carpet picnics, spread a blanket on the floor of the living room and eat there. Break out the picnic set if you have one and eat there. Kids love it for some reason.
Glueing and sticking - basically pieces of cut up paper, could be Argos magazine or brightly coloured paper. Simple glue can be made from flour and water (just don't leave it hanging around forever as it will grow mould!)
We made blossom twigs last week, largish twigs, ripped up tissue paper and glue. they look quite pretty too
Drawing in sand or flour. Can draw shapes, squiggles and just give it a shake and you can start again. Best done on a tray to contain it
My DD loves standing at the sink and playing with cups and a big bowl of water. Wear and apron and put down a towel to protect from spillages.
Potato printing or using any other implements to paint with. Water the paint down and use a straw to blow it. use a fork to make lines in the paint.
If I think of anymore I'll post them.

'Tis me who is the chocolate fairy ...
Gemmzie - For you my darling, I have brochures from Florida (I even had a 'get married in Florida' one but I think I had to discard as my case was over-weight). I think I also have one Beyond Chocolate book left (I bought them as promotion copies). But if Clairewop has looked at hers and not found it helpful, then maybe she can send you her copy?
I can do a reasonable discussion on diet and nutrition if you need/want to know more ... have a look at the website and if you are interested, their forum is free for one month and includes 2 phone calls/downloads a week from the authors of the book.
Another income stream of mine is to retail aloe vera products (which include a detox program, weight management and high strength omega 3 and other vits/minerals). Probably best to get in touch on t'other side for both of these as they are businesses.

Hi ladies, Mummy is home! Still not great but I helped her to dry her hair today after her shower (and she actually let me!) and she was lying on the sofa all clean and fresh when I left her. Going home with my bro at the weekend for her bday so that will be nice. Knackered and drained and away for work tomorrow so will catch up soon. Thanks again for all your support X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Glad to hear Mum is home Souk! Hope she will be her old self soon!
MG glad you now know what the matter is and can start to put things right - and in the meantime take it easy and have fun playing with DS2!
Crickett, the job obviously wasn't for you, something else will come along - and I love your positive request re your colleague!0
