You really cannot understand what makes people treat animals in this way and I am in awe if the lovely people who set up rescue organisations like this. I would be so angry that I wouldn't be able to be of any use to man or beast. Will doing what Maarit suggests.
  • Poor little doggie - looks so poorly :( I guess he's survived because he was quite big to start with. The vets will do their best for him...

I just don't understand why anyone would want to be cruel to an animal - my cats came from a rescue centre... the chap who "owned" them kicked my boy so hard that he had all of the ribs on the left side of his body broken.

I've had them for 5 years now, and they are fine - but Boycat is still a little scared of feet, and he still wolfs his food down at 100mph :(

Oh bless him - poor chap. Goes to show what a strong will he has for survival though as he's fought this long. Fantasia I am with you on the tears - am finding it hard to see the screen as I type this. Fingers crossed that the love will have as positive an effect as the food and veterinary care - can you keep us updated on his progress please.

MG - no question that eating the right stuff WILL help boost your energy levels - the weightloss I would think is a useful offshoot of that, but not the most important thing in the picture at the moment. Try to build your exercise us gradually as well - even five minutes dancing round the house, so long as it leaves you slightly breathless, will help to boost the levels and leave you feeling better from the inside out, if that makes sense.

Apologies for my absence over in the other place at the moment by the way - all my log-in details are on the laptop which I am currently having problems with.

Nice night out at the speedway last night - it was our first meeting of the new season so excellent to see everyone again including one of our team who rode for a us a few years back and we got to know pretty well - he's a lovely lad and SO pleased to be back with us - as we are pleased to have him back! A good victory for our side too so a positive start to the season. Plans for today are to head over to Mums shortly for lunch, then we're heading to the shops this afternoon. Neither of us have much money to spend but we'll have a laugh anyway!

  • MG - love the image of Sugah Honey :D. Lots of rest, nutritious food, fresh air and gentle exercise my friend. You have been running on empty so now need to build your stength back up.

Fantasia - thank goodness for people like your friend. There are truly some vile people in this world.

EH - glad you had a good night out.

Well second coat of kitchen paint now finished :j - the tin of paint cost me £17 - eeeh I was spitting feathers - £17 . Lovely day here, so ds and I are going to use his bus pass and have a bus ride out to a local town followed by lunch in a caff. In another life it would have been a pub lunch, today I can feel a bacon butty and a mug of tea calling - mmmnnnn :D

    Hugs to all, Thriftyxxx

Bailey and his sister were passed onto Tracy from Battersea on Monday (they had been given imtermediate vet care there) but Battersea kept them for the obligatory 7 days and then contacted Tracy who specialises in Danes. Unfortunately Baileys sister, a harlequin !!!!! was so ill she died in the kennel with Bailey on Monday night.
Tracy is waiting for follow up info about the circumstances of the people who signed the danes over to Battersea.

Bailey weighs 26.7 kg which is half of what he should be for a year old male dane pup, should be between 50-55 kg.
The pic below shows Bailey with Tia an 11 month old !!!!! pup (another of Tracy's rescues, shes going to her forever home on Sunday). Lets you see how bad he really is

He is also partially deaf and has a blue eye and a brown eye, the blue will require surgery to re-align his vision. A bite to his leg has caused infection to the bone because there was no flesh or muscle to absorb the impact (more surgery).
At the moment he is on a strong course of anti-biotics to combat all the infections.

Miore updates as progress goes on. Thank you everybody. Could I ask you all to send positive vibes that this little guy makes a full recovery. He sure deserves it. thank you again.
  • A quick fly in and out... The doggy is lovely, and I hope he makes a full recovery. I also hope the people who got him into that state suffer a plague of 1,000 camel fleas infesting their personal areas. Disgraceful. :(:(:(

I have this afternoon off, and I am treating myself to some retail therapy, then an evening out with friends, staying over with my godson, his 5 siblings and my godpuppy! It is going to be soooooome night! LOL! :D

Lovely to hear from you MG - lots of love to the Matrix, and especially Bailey the dane! :D

  • Awwww, the poor sweetheart. He looks even more sick next to a normal pup of his age...!

I am sure with a loving home and the right care he's safe now xx

I'm greedy but I forgot to say I have a job interview at 1.30 today so would appreciate a positive vibe or 2 as well. I've been so preoccupied with Bailey's story I forgot

    Thank you again x
