    Good morning

Another beautiful day here, woke up bright and breezy, which is surprising as I walked 4 miles last night, was expecting to get up this morning very sore, but I didn't :)

All downstairs has been tidied, hoovered, worktops cleaned, kitchen floor brushed :) I have a load of washing on the line and the dishwasher is on :), so just having a sit as my hip is hurting again now, then it is get dressed make beds and have a potter around getting stuff put away whilst I wait for the parcel to arrive.

Then its bagging and up to my mate with the stock. (a friend took a pile of beads last n ight to bag cause I am having trouble opening the bags ) so that should help :)

Glad William is ok. Does anyone have a link to his diary so I can have a nosey please??

Bitsy - do you par cook your chicken? I've got a slow cooker recipe book and am fed up with it telling me to brown or par-cook meat. IMO the whole thing about slow cookers is that you can throw everything in it in the morning without having to do a load of extra cooking.

I know what you mean about the planning - I don't tend to do that much - my littlies like choosing their own things to do. They don't want me telling them what to play with or do.

I sometimes brown the meat off, depends on what I am cooking. But it doesn't matter if you don't.

Now you see number 9 is the reason why I MUST live closer to the sea :D

Get me, using my slow cooker two days in a row :D Got a piece of beef in there at the mo. Did a quick mental inventory of my freezer yesterday......boy I've got a lot of meat in there :o Most of it is stuff my H doesn't eat which is why it's hanging around more. He really only eats chicken, low fat sausages (why oh why?!) and bacon.......bit limiting when I've got lots of minced steak, beef and pork to use. The kids will eat it with me but they don't have the apptetites to match mine so it's a lot to get through essentially on my own. Still need to whittle some of it down so must aim to say fit some of the excess into the weeks meals or at least every other week.

Still in a quandry over job so am just going to sit back and wait for the Universe to send me some signs. I wouldn't do anything about it in the immediate future as I feel I have a commitment to my parents so lets see what the Universe decides to send me.

    Glad william is OK :D

Lara - well done on passing your exam......3 weeks..... loads of time ;)

Cheri - Hope you met your millionaire last night ;)

trog - how was the tingling lips in the end?!

Hope you all have a great day :D Try and check back in later.

    Hi Everyone

Memorygirl, so nice to see you back :D I'm so sorry you had such a rough time in hospital. Hope you feel much better soon.

Hugs to your Mum Souk, ((hugs about your back Claire))

Cheri and Crickett, good house buying and selling vibes :)

I have some good news too, I passed my exam and am now 'upgraded' and officially a PhD student. It went so well, I feel so pleased. Unfortunately OH is working his head off at the moment, almost until I leave for Uganda. Less than 3 weeks until I leave.

P.s. Had my fingers crossed for William too.

Passing your upgrade is splendid news, Lara. Viva next - and another Doctor (who cannot make people better, mind).

Who knows maybe I could meet a millionare and entertain him for the night to raise my cash :eek: JOKE

Cheri, this is joining of minds gone a bit too far, I think. When we (OH and I) did the brainstorming about developing income streams I came up with: "Men paying you to have dinner with me." You should have seen his face!

Hope you had better luck than me, though:rotfl::rotfl:.

    Morning!

We survived the chilli incident - although I was bright pink and it gave OH hiccups! Even though I scrubbed the chopping/bread board after chopping the chilli up yesterday, my toast this morning definitely had a hint of something extra with the jam though

Glad William got through OK, and well done Lara on passing your grading - onwards and upwards!

Claire I hope your parcel turns up soon.

Off on a round of errands now, trying to combine lots of little things into one bigger trip.

    Have a good day all!

Hope you find your parcel Claire

Still painting here at Thrifty Towers - maybe my oh could hire me out for men to watch me paint - different rates for different attires :rotfl:Okay - think the fumes are getting to me - on the second coat for the kitchen walls but am going to run out of paint before I finish - booo that's another £15 to find.

    Later peeps, Thriftyxxx
