Welcome back MG. I gave up TV and no longer own one. I found many extra hours in my day and no longer say I dont have time to do things.

DR Daffs, - what a lovely moment. Good for you.

Fantasia, I really enjoy your quotes. They stop me in my tracks or make me laugh out loud.

I don't have a tv, and haven't had one for 12 years, but still don't have time to do everything I want to!

Bitsy, greenbee and triker - why all of you have the same avatar? I was getting very confused (not too difficult thou :rotfl:)

Going to family court tomorrow courtesy of ex. So tomorrow at lunch time if you could send some strength and clear thinking to my way I would be extremely grateful. :) Need to prepare for it tonight :(

Marru, best of luck with the fc, we had a miserable time over a year or two with them , I hope your experience is better. (is there a fingers crossed smilie?) And most of all I hope they do what is right for any children involved (they didn't for us :( ) Hopefully they will be more forward thinking and you will think clearly and be strong. :)

Marru, hope it goes well for you today xx

The avatar is in memory of a lovely MSE poster called MoneysavingDiva who sadly died at the end of January rather unexpectantly after an operation. Lots of us on the OS board changed our avatars to purple stars in her memory as she always typed in purple.

    good morning peeps!

Not much going on today, just the usual housework etc but I am feeling positive and looking forward to having another play with the sewing machine. I need to sit and have a go without the comfort of my mum behind me otherwise everything I do will only happen when she's around. I want to have a go at making some fabric bunting as that seems fairly simple. Need to probably pop into Bham rag market again to pick our some nice fabrics......won't be next week as it's half term.

Anyway enough of my ramblings. Hope you all have good and productive days (even if it's sitting reading a book, to me that IS productive ;)). Lots of positive vibes to you all.

Hmmm.... I'll have to think about this one. I certainly ended up not missing it when I moved here, before I got the freeview box and the signal booster for my mum's visit .... and in spite of saying "I'll do that - whatever "that" is - when I'm sitting in front of the tv - if the tv's on, I don't do much else. Last night I did pot some herbs up and that was the first time I'd done anything. On the other hand, I'm trying to join in more - and the shared language of tv programmes is a convenient ice-breaker. I'll have to think about this - I wonder if tv licenses can be bought for 6 months?

And a triple :j:j:j from me too.

Absolutely! They're wonderful! Mind you, I also remember a sentence from one that craftyscholar put up here: your destiny does not care about your past. I really, really love that.
