Good luck for today Cheri - how exciting to have a sign language interpreterDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Claire - It is very easy to say yes but difficult to say no, especially if these people also help you. You may need to try a rule that you only say yes to one thing a day?
Cheri - I am sure the presentation will be fab & I love the idea of a signwriter to assist you - very inclusive
So pleased that people are owning up to the 2nd year being more difficult than the first as I had that problem when Mum died. In year one I could look back and say last year we did.... with a smile on my face and a small tear in my eye. Year two was so much more difficult as it wasn't a year ago and it seemed like forever since I had seen her. My sisters seemed to cope so much better than me and actually suggested I had counselling. We are now beyond the 4 year mark and there are still some sad times but it gets easier.
I should be an expert at dealing with loss as my family is a bit of a disaster but, if anything, I find each one harderAnd I now sob at ANY funeral
Anyway, back to positivity for those that need them and those that are unsure :rotfl::j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
If I said that even the merest glimpse of a funeral on TV set me off crying would that be really odd?
I went to my gran's when I was 12 (or so) I balled my eyes out the whole way through (no one else was crying, they all cried at the grave side) and from that day I vowed never to go to another one again. I haven't.
I don't want a funeral when I die, (partly) because I wouldn't want to psychologically scar anyone like have been!
It's humpday today - yay! The midweek downward slide to the weekend. Woo!
I ordered my kitchen yesterday (ouch!) but rather fantastically they've agreed to fit it the week we're on holiday. Woo! An expensive month - but I've saved up for this kitchen for the past 5 years!!0 -
Thanks for the affirmations people. Much appreciated. We have asked the driver and volunteer to stay for dinner on Thursday evening. Seemed the right thing to do because they are arrriving here at 7.00 in the evening and will stay till Leyla settles, then heading back to Glasgow where they are based. So its all good.
Good luck Cheri, not that you will need it, have EVERY faith in you, but positive vibes anyway.
I must say again thank you again for all the encouragement, to follow my dream. It may only be a small dream, but I have spent years prevaricating and it probably wouldn't have come to fruition without some straight talking.
Take a leap and learn to fly, never mind that, I want to soar with eagles now. And also to introduce this into other areas of my life.
hugs to everyone who needs them.
Have a fantastic day everyone.
ETA, I don't like funerals either, have been to 2 in my whole life. And only then because I felt I had to, (my mums and my step-dads). They make me feel sad, depressed and out of touch witih reality. ITMS. Got goosebumps just thinking about it.
The link for Pet ambulance Cheri, its Scottish but they go anywhere in the UK,

Spooky - I was just thinking Thank God it's hump day today :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well I'd love to tell you all about my exciting life but I'll just have to settle with sharing my ordinary life of cleaning. On Monday, the grebby behind the cooker, freezer and top of the cupboards were blitzed. On Tuesday, 14 (yes 14 ) kitchen cupboards were decluttered and cleaned inside and out. This mornin, the inside of the cooker was degunked. Next on the list is the worktops - they are a porousy type of material that no matter how much you wipe, just holds grease and dirt - so it's out with the wire wool and scouring cream.
So I would like to post several wishes to the universe:
I would like a wife (a good wife mind) and a cleaner and a maid and a decorator and a gardener and.... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Positive vibes for your talk this afternoon Cheri. Love to all, Thriftyxxx0 -
I have a kitchen that needs preparing for the arrival of B&Q - I can pay you
Are you interested xx :-P

Please tell me that Wednesday is called hump day as it's now nearer the end of the week than the beginning - and it's not an order of the marital kind?:oDebts 07/12/2021

It's the top of the hump in a normal distribution curve diagram.
I.e. in a normal working week, you're right at the top by Wednesday lunchtime...
However, if you feel you wish to indulge in some mid-week marital activity, feel free, but don't tell usx

Sorry not as controlled as Cheery :rotfl:Tea now sprayed all over my laptop and screen.
Think of a little humped bridge Clooties Mum - Mon & Tues you are crawling up one side. It's Wednesday lunchtime - woohoo - we're on top of the hump.... now we can slide down the other side at top speed :T.
Tmif - I can be bought for cleaning services - I come complete with Aspie son who is happy as long as long as there is a 'puter or games consol for him to be hardwired into:) .0
