If its not fun any more Bitsy, put it onhold and just try to achieve what you can, and craft for pleasure. Babysteps remember. You sound a little bit overwhelmed right now.
I've been so wrapped up (selfishly) in this Great Dane thing that I havent been reading posts thoroughly.
Just 1 step at a time till you get through what you need to.

On a lighter note i have snowdrops in the back garden just waiting to burst through the bud.
The sun is shining and January is ALMOST over. (I hate January).
And the sun is always shining somewhere, if its not with you at the moment it will be soon.
The world is getting ready to re-awaken and grow and bloom and blossom and YOU will to.

  • I've reading and lurking but not felt like posting as I didn't have anything good to say :o Bl00dy autism, just when I think I am cool with it something comes along to upset me :o
Still I am getting back to myself, I just have to have a good cry about things and then move on.

Have been thinking about the craft stuff I wanted to achieve this year and TBH I am struggling. I feel I am juggling so much and I don't think I can manage to carry on the way I envisaged :o I shall try and get some stuff made but I don't think I am going to be able to start up some sort of side business out of it at the moment, I just don't have the time or the energy alongside my daily stress with DS (and DD, who looks like an angel but really is a devil in disguise )

Mahoosive, mahoosive (((hugs))) Bitsy. Ahhhh sweetie, you have two youngsters, one of whom has ASD, one of whom is a handful plus you are a childminder - you have a lot going on. Put things on hold and maybe as Fantasia says look to craft for pleasure and relaxation for the time being.

Thanks ladies, you're all quite right. I wanted to get things up and running and at the moment it's all too much. Will do what I can for pleasure and see how things develop.

On the plus side it's gorgeous sunshine albeit itFREEEEEEEEEZING :D

Just popping back in to say THANK YOU! for all your lovely positive vibes today :T :T They've really helped me to stay focused, and to not get sidetracked into a big spiral of 'I can't do it!' despairing :o I've worked hard today, haven't got distracted, made a couple of scary phone calls (although didn't manage to get through to the dentist), and I'm now going to stop for tea :j :j

Oh, and a little lesson for me - and possibly some of the rest of us too - things are usually not as bad as you think they're going to be. I'd been putting off emailing my examiner to tell him I was about to submit because I imagined he would shout and tell me I should have done it earlier, was wasting his time, etc etc, :o I plucked up the courage and emailed today, and he replied:

"Thanks Cheery, that's great, I'll have a look and let you know if anything else needs doing. It must be a relief!"

:D So, you see, he IS human after all, and not a big scary cartoon monster headteacher like I was thinking of him :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

(that also means I've committed myself to finishing and sending the whole thing by the end of Sunday - eek!)

Enjoy your Friday evenings matrix ladies :T :T I shall be popping out for something tasty for tea, and then spending the evening on more administrative end-of-phd tasks that don't take as much brain power, but are nevertheless necessary. Thanks for being there today xxx

Well done Cheery on what you've achieved today (and for the past 7 years). Lots of positive vibes for you finishing it all this weekend. Be proud of what you've done :D

Am currently in kitchen experiementing with Martini Rosso and various mixers with H. At this rate I'll be drunk before tea time (wayhey!).
He's also brought up this for me on YouTube. Now that's my sort of cooking ;);) He's just seen it on the lappy and asked if the small screen (on my ipod) isn't large enough for it :rotfl:

Thankee fantasia - got my Brum mate on the scrounge for enough timber too,so baby steps to my babies room.

................. and my claim to fame re "make do and mend" was that I actually got to meet Biddy Baxter once. :j

I know, I know, I used to feed Rufus Sewell and Philip Glenister Sunday Lunch at college ..... sat on Marti Pellows knee to watch a pantomime at The Kings Glasgow and won a bet that had Brian May as my "slave" for an evening in Madame JoJo's ....................... and them most exciting thing I did in my theatre life was spend an hour chatting with Biddy Baxter (the lady who used to do all the makes on Blue Peter)

    Evening Ladies (Lurkers & Gents)

I got the job :D they have offered me less money than I'd like (but 3.5k over what they were initially advertised the position at) and it is technically a 10% hourly pay rate cut but I'll be working more hours (40 instead of 28) and my travel costs will drop from £8 per day to £2.

Thing is ....I'm dreading handing my notice in! the 31st January is the busiest day in our work and so I have told the girl at the agency I will hand my notice in on Tuesday.

On a personal level I feel very positive - I am now moving into week 3 of my new 'healthy eating with a view to losing weight' malarky and tomorrow I will get weighed to see if its working! I am another with my 40th looming (April 2012) as well as my brothers wedding in june 2012 and my sisters in september 2012 so I would like to go from the size of a house to a more bijou residence :D

I used to own a great dane and she was the most affectionate dog I have even known and had such a personality she was almost human!

    Congratulations!!!

Go Cheery!!!!! The last few words are always the hardest. Do we get to call you Dr Daff soon??

Soooooo cold out today - and DS1 and I have been out in the garden -

    visualising
    sketching
    estimating
    measuring
    planning
    drawing
    photographing
    colouring
    spreadsheeting
    reading
    reviewing
    researching

Whew!!!! And drinking tea - which always tastes best out of a flask in an enamel mug doesn't it. This homeschooling is hard work:D

Then the postie came to drop off later on his way home - and a very kind lady sent DS1 5 packets of seeds to start on his project.

He is now talking about setting up his own blog so that you can all follow his homeschool / garden / cooking adventures.

Gotta go put a baby in the bath (snotty nose again - so better get the Olbas oil on the go too)

Gemmzie - sorry can't think of a solution to the car problem, sorry that it was the worst time for the MOT failure, is there no way it can be patched up to limp to April?

Unfortunately not, it needs a new engine at the least and it's likely that there's damage been caused elsewhere by the engine being faulty.
OH's mum might be lending me her second car though :D Fingers crossed!
