MG I am totally in awe of your ability to make do and mend. As a completely handless person it just baffles me! X

Thankee fantasia - got my Brum mate on the scrounge for enough timber too,so baby steps to my babies room.

................. and my claim to fame re "make do and mend" was that I actually got to meet Biddy Baxter once. :j

I know, I know, I used to feed Rufus Sewell and Philip Glenister Sunday Lunch at college ..... sat on Marti Pellows knee to watch a pantomime at The Kings Glasgow and won a bet that had Brian May as my "slave" for an evening in Madame JoJo's ....................... and them most exciting thing I did in my theatre life was spend an hour chatting with Biddy Baxter (the lady who used to do all the makes on Blue Peter)

    Evening Ladies (Lurkers & Gents)

I got the job :D they have offered me less money than I'd like (but 3.5k over what they were initially advertised the position at) and it is technically a 10% hourly pay rate cut but I'll be working more hours (40 instead of 28) and my travel costs will drop from £8 per day to £2.

Thing is ....I'm dreading handing my notice in! the 31st January is the busiest day in our work and so I have told the girl at the agency I will hand my notice in on Tuesday.

On a personal level I feel very positive - I am now moving into week 3 of my new 'healthy eating with a view to losing weight' malarky and tomorrow I will get weighed to see if its working! I am another with my 40th looming (April 2012) as well as my brothers wedding in june 2012 and my sisters in september 2012 so I would like to go from the size of a house to a more bijou residence :D

I used to own a great dane and she was the most affectionate dog I have even known and had such a personality she was almost human!

CONGRATULATIONS JC well done. Full time, fares for the full week costing slightly more that fares for a day and a higher wage than advertised. Blimey you must have knocked their socks off.

YAY to another dane owner. Now thats you, me, fantasia and (oops forgot your MSE name because I now think of you as the real you) but you know who your are. Any more to come out of the wordwork.
These danes, they are taking over the world one at a time. And yes they are very humanlike in some of their traits.

MG :grouphug: I often have days when I get grumpy because I am grumpy. You have done really well with the alphabet. Take some care of yourself as you have dealt with so much lately.
Kittikins - do you need a bucket of water? I think you are in :happylove

Way-To-Go, now all we need is for everyone to acquire an African Grey as well and we'd be rocking.

Sorry Gemmzie no idea what to suggest then. Do you cards need to be clear to obtain the mortgage or would they not take into account the amount that you have available to you. What is to stop you spending on the cards as soon as your mortgage is approved otherwise? Have you taken professional advice from a broker? Do you have to cancel all the cards once they are clear. That sounds a bit odd to me if that is the case but I am no expert as things have changed a lot over the last couple of years.
We think it's all a bit odd too, they haven't said we need to close them done but the balances need to be zero. This is a broker but there's only one firm that deal with part buy, part rent new builds - very

Gemmzie, is there anybody else that you could ask? Just for a second opinion re the mortgage that you want. Seems odd that there is only one firm that will deal with that kind of mortgage too.

Sorry - dont mean to sound negative but I am ultra cautious.
