Afternoon, lunch break so I deserve a reward after 3 yes 3 hours teleconferencing. Came here for my reward and now feel amazed at all the work being done.
MG - breathe luv! no reason to feel guilty for enjoying me time. As KK says Mums have a tendency to lose identity so having those few ideas will give you time to be you and do what makes your heart sing.
Everyone with all the long lists WELL BLOOMIN DONE
Cricket. Always Under promise and Over achieve - thats what a manager told me once when I kept offering to do things with short deadlines. So always negotiate a longer deadline than you really need. When you finish early people think you are wonderful BUT keep it in mind to negotiate that timeline yourself. If you have finished 24 hours early I would give it in now. If it was 48 hours early I would wait for another day. See where I am coming from? Hope it makes sense. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Makes perfect sense. And it is what I try and do at all times. This particular piece of work has been :eek::eek: on several occasions and been causing me sleepless nights, so I am glad to be rid of the blasted thing. At least, for now! I am sure it will be back with "Oooh, I thought we could add this..." or some such. :rotfl: And now, I have the fun of the rest of the to do list.I am however going to be leaving on the stroke of 4pm tonight. And driving home. And going straight to bed!

Good afternoon
Been to Forest School this morning and got VERY muddy. All good fun
Had lunch at my mums and got back and made a batch of cakes as there's nothing unhealthy in the house for the kids to eat
Just catching up on my various threads etc before the school run starts again.
So not been terribly productive but considering I've been out of the house for half the day it's no wonder.
MG - I soooooo hear you on the little person. I love my kids but boy do I get much more done without a little "helper" in towI've just thrown away a packet of french bean seeds, I wish I'd have seen this earlier I would have sent them to you for DS1. Actually I have a packet of purple sprouting broccoli and TBH it's not something I am likely to grow (prefer my broccoli green). They're yours if you want them, sow by August 2013 so still good for another couple of years? Will send you a PM.
JC - hope your interview went OK this morning.
crickett - well done you!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Thrifty - I'd pay you £10 an hour and all the Twinks' you can eat to come and paint my hovel
KK I'd do it for the love of twinks, a cup of tea and a natter with another adult.
While I know that I did the right thing without a doubt giving up work to become ds's carer - I do miss the company of other adults - big-time. It's worse than when they were babies - at least then I went to a Mums and Tots groups every day. Still, at least I have all you wonderful peeps on MSE to blether to...
Okay - I've got half-an-hour before the teenager appears and I get my ear bent off :rotfl:
Take care all and well done to Crickett :T:T:T0 -
Thank you all! I have been doing really well all day and other than the reallybig hairy scary job... which I can't get on with because the IT isn't playing, I am all caught up!
I'm exhausted... but thrilled!"A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort"Herm Albright 1876-19440 -

Look on the freebie websites, particularly BBC's Dig In. I have had free veggie seeds from there for 2 years now and they've been really good. Is there anything in particular that DS1 needs for his garden?
Off to have a lookie - free is the best price after all:D
We need some scrap wood or scaffolding boards and some seeds - although neighbour is going to ask his friend who has an Allotment for a few seeds.
DS1's garden is an expansion of the 24 module square foot garden that we had last year - so we have got quite a building project to go first (charging my screwdriver as we speak)
Everything else we will have to trade / barter / borrow / scrounge :rotfl:. But should be really educational for him.
