By the way, I wanted to share this - get you ready for the Monday morning blues.
The Lost Poem, Dr Suess
I love my job, I love the pay!
I love it more and more each day.
I love my boss he is the best!
I love his boss and all the rest.
I love my office and its location, I hate to have to go on vacation
I love my furniture, drab and gray, and piles of paper that grow each day
I think my job is really swell, there's nothing else I love so well
I love to work among my peers, I love their leers and jeers and sneers
I love my computer and its software;
I hug it often though it won't care. I love each program and every file
I'd love them more if they worked a while.
I am happy to be here. I am. I am.
I'm the happiest slave of the firm, I am.
I love this work, I love these chores.
I love the meetings with deadly bores.
I love my job- I'll say it again-I even love those friendly men
Those friendly men who've come today,
In clean white coats to take me away!!!!Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Clooties - Hope you're feeling better soon.

Never mind Kitty, studying tonight means that you will be available at the drop of hat on Sunday!
First date with OH, well thats a bit tricky to answer really. We used to be best friends when we were teenagers. (I had a very big crush on him from the age of 15 so when my best friend started dating his best friend we became friends and I was too scared to tell him how I felt because it would spoil our friendship) So as teenagers we used to do everything together, he would come to mine for tea, we would listen to music, drive round in his Dads car, take my dog for walks, watch tv. etc etc etc. Then I found myself a boyfriend and he banned me from seeing OH as we were too friendly! Silly I know but I was young.
Anway, long story short we met up again 25 years later and I invited him for tea. We just picked up where we left off, went for dog walks, sat in mine and watched tv/had tea, went to best friends (who I had also been banned from seeing 25 years earlier). So there was never really any first date. I just plucked up the courage one night after copious amounts of red wine served with the meal I had prepared to tell him how I had felt all those years before. Turned out he had felt the same. My Mum was over the moon. Said that she always knew that we were meant to be together but didnt want to interfere.
I do like hearing about first dates though.
I have a friend like this.... everyone swears we are going to end up married! I love him to bits but not in 'that' way... and he has stopped talking to me now I've told him I'm seeing someone
Love the romantic stories though! Hugs to anyone that needs them xBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Bitsy, Ceri & Susan - thanks for your good wishes - I know I sounded like a bit of a grump but I normally get through these things with a few sniffles. Luckily, I knew there was a bug going round so I was stocked up with painkillers, throat sweets & liquids. Although I have had to buy more tissues (& posh ones so me nozzle doesn't get stripped of skin)
Cheri - I love the poem - have sent it on to work & wiil print it off to have beside my PC because, yes I am going in tomorrow - I always try to go in in case they think I'm making it up - plus my voice is a bit squeaky so don't know if I'll have one tomorrow to phone in with :rotfl::rotfl:

o0o0o I'm sat here cringing!! An agency called me a couple of weeks ago and asked if she could put me forward for a job which I agreed to , she called me on Friday arranging the interview for the morning at 8:15am. I've been doing some research on the company in preparation for it and found really negative feedback from employees and customers and after thinking about it I just felt that they werent a company I would feel comfortable working for if given the opportunity. I considered making up an excuse but I have emailed the girl from the agency (her emails go to her phone) and basicaly just told her what I felt.
I feel bad for pulling out but ultimately I do feel it was the right thig...still cringing tho!Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Guys, I am upset.
We heard a rumour that Temple Newsam was on fire, and thinking it would be nothing drove up and found that although the house was okay, one of the barns in the farm was totally gutted.
For those of you who don't know Leeds, Temple Newsam is a 17th century stately home owned by the council and the 17th century farm buildings housed a rare breed farm. If the barn is the one I think it was, there was a display of traditional farmworkers accommodation upstairs and downstairs stalls which have housed different animals over the years we've been going there (pigs, chickens even guinea pigs).
I'm upset enough about the destruction of history before I even start thinking about whether they got all the animals out.0 -
Oh, Helen, that's awful!
