The business part of the otherside goes over the top of my head because I have no interest in starting a business myself but totally support other peoples intents to do so.
The positivity that flows in here is light and buoyant. It sparkles with good feelings. But its effervesence (spelling argh) has wilted and we need to bring it back. The exhuberance in here was intoxicating and there was a point where I could'nt come in here without immediately picking up on the feel-good factor.
We need to get it back....................:T
I know January is a horrible month, skint, bills, horrible weather etc and it rubs off on us all.
But on the upside, we are now into the 3rd week of January, for the 1st time in 6 weeks I can look out my window and the snow has gone. The nights are getting slowly lighter and I even managed to get some washing dry outside on the line.
And for the upside I am very grateful.
So over to the next person for something positive, (positivity breeds positivity:)) so lets change what we can and accept what we can't.Well I AM trying to establish a business (albeit a tiny one) but I confess it's not lack of interest just lack of brains, I don't understand half of what's said
Anyway picking up the mantle of positivity I've been organised and sorted out the dates for 3 weeks of my holiday this year. This is unheard of  In the past we've not looked at what or where we're going for hols until May if not later. It feels so good knowing when I shall be having time off, first week is Easter hols and I can't wait. I am planning on taking the kids to Legoland so whilst it is in all likely to be expensive we're holidaying in the UK again (borrowing my mum and dad's touring caravan) so I guess it's even stevens in the end.
I'm sitting here doing some work on my website and I made a couple of rough cards for Valentines day. Off to Birmingham Rag market I think Tuesday to go and see what fabric I can get (for Claire's plier roll amongst other things) so I can get cracking with my sewing machine.
All feels rather exciting and fizzy when I think about it. Felt a bit lacklustre since Christmas, was so busy before hand and then poorly over the holidays I've felt like I've lost my way. Had some personal issues and some soul searching to do too and feel like I've made some headway there.
All in all January is working out to be better than I expected
Oh and there are the bluebell shoots appearing in the local woods so lets bring on Spring :TI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Yay, Go Bitsy, I saw some Snowdrops popping their heads up through the icy soil this morning too.
Has anyone heard from Olive or anymore about the kits arriving?0 -

What I liked about this thread originally was the fact that it appeared to buzz with positive energy. The whole "make do and mend" was at least something I could identify with and the comaraderie was fantastic. Whilst I am not complaining about the other side, I've received help and support over there but I feel it lacks the spark that this thread once had
So is there any chance we can find our way again? I admit I've not been a long time poster with regards to MG so feel free to tell me to mind my own but it's just how I feel
It was not the business bits I was referring too they belong over the other side and a lot of it goes over my head too
It was the challenges I miss and some of those have gone over the other side and we seem to have lost impetus to make new ones. I agree this thread used to fizz and everyone was referring to it in other threads and it was "the place" to be for positivity. I would love to get that back because as much as I appreciate the support on the other side MSE is my home and where I feel most comfortable. This thread seems to have lost its excitement and a new year should be a time for new challenges, new starts and helping each other to get there in a whole sense not just a business sense - leave the business stuff for the other side and lets get on with making our lives and each others lives more fulfilling.

Yep DT, it almost seems like people are so caught up with the otherside, again though some members had posted their challenges over there along with other stuff.
I havent been over there recently, since before Xmas as had major computer crash and had to get hard drive wiped and Vista reloaded.
SO lost all my info (OH didnt think to ask if I wanted anything saved grrrrrrr). So I've only got my password, and lost URL for other place.
But we seriously need to put some life back into the Matrix Reloaded.0 -
I agree - ladies and gents we can get this thread back to being the place to beI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Hi all, I loved this thread and personally have to say it has been amazing and supportive for me, as has the other site but I do think it has lost it's fizz lately and would be so happy if that was back.
I think we all need to remember the lovely days of bra chat, waxing hilarity and the fact that so many great things have been achieved by us from DT's amazing weight loss to new babies to new business and all those Kits for the kids.
SO in the interests of positivity, sharing success and new starts...I would like to tell you all that I have lost 8 pounds since Dec 31st on my diet :j:j:j and my clothes feel better again.
Ooh and I have a free ticket for We Will Rock You on Thursday. Bring it on! X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -

Hi all, I've been lurking rather than posting recently, hope that life will soon return to an even keel for many of us xx
Following on from Souk's news, I also have positive, sharing success and a new start - after a couple of years feeling unloved and unloveable, I've recently started dating a lovely man and am blissfully happy with a soppy grin on my face 99% of the timeHe is just what I ordered!! I'm hoping that the Universe will smooth out our path together for a long time...

Oooh positive vibes - luv those :T
Thinks - am enjoying the milder weather and especially the reduction in my gas and elec bills over the past week :T. Also, apart from 3 little bits, we have lining paper on our bedroom walls all ready for painting (think poor man's plaster skim :rotfl:).
Eta: that's lovely news Kittikins.
Fantasia - I spotted your post. Did you notice the name of the website involved - check it out lol0
