  • Souk - faulous weight loss well done you. I love We will Rock You - hope you have a great time. I am going to the Strictly Come Dancing Tour tonight and intend to dress suitably "sparkly" - not really like me at all but I think the occasion demands it.

I agree that the fizz on this site has waned. I think MG's energy inspired us all and we each mirrored that energy in our own posts so the whole became more than the sum of the parts (sorry - psychology degree - the gestalt but stuck with me!!)

We now need to find that energy within ourselves and get this board sparkling again and hopefully MG will pick up on our positivity and that will lift her.

Totally agree with this - we can't rely on one person alone to provide energy and inspiration - that is unfair and as we have seen, unsustainable over the long term. So in the spirit of contribution, a TADA list for the start of the week:

Dry washing sorted ready for ironing.
    Another washload on.
    Beds made.
    General tidy-up after weekend.
Supper and breakfast dishes washed and dried.
Potatoes and veggies prepped ready for tea.

Next on the list paperwork and ironing, during which I shall think about my next challenge.

Right ladies, this week is my 'get my CV out there for work experience' week. I expect my backside to be prodded hard if I haven't got it out to everyone on my list by the end of the week, and you are the people to do it!

Well I haven't got very far with a Ta-da! list yet today but I have taken DD to school, cleaned a dirty patch of wall ready to paint later and sorted something to make for dinner (and as an added bonus, this uses rhubarb, something I have a lot of in the freezer which I'm trying to use up before it comes round again and I have to admit to having had enough of rhubarb crumble for now! )

My plans for the rest of January - trying not to give myself too much to do otherwise I feel like a failure if I don't do everything - but I do intend to:
write to at least one person per day
figure out how to change the glow-plugs in my car (it's an old diesel) and do it!
get compost etc ready for seed-planting next month
finish painting the kitchen (then we can move the fridge back out of our front room and make a start on that!)

I forgot to add this morning's uplifting things so far:
seeing the first snowdrops! (in someone else's garden) on the walk to school
making time to splash in puddles with DD
watching a heron that is standing on the roof of next door's shed at the bottom of their garden!

One of my fifty day challenges was to decide what I wanted to do about work. I am leaving my job on 31 January, so I think I can say that my decision has been made

    Hi there

I lurk on this thread occasionally (not guilty of any nasty PMs :(). Tescodealqueen - somewhere in the above post you have included a link to a smiley on the matrix website. This means that whenever someone accesses this page, it is popping up a dialog box asking for a login and password for the matrix forum. I'm sure this is not what you intended to happen and I don't suppose MSE Andrea will be over-enthused about it either. :)

Just thought I'd mention it because it baffled me for a bit, so may be baffling other MSE users as well.

Eat at least 1 piece of fruit a day, 2 would be better but I don't really like fruit that much[Matrix smiley here]

Bitsy Beans - see my previous post - you have inserted a smiley from the matrix forum as well. When someone views this page, they get two requests to enter a login and password for the matrix forum. The smiley is above where I have highlighted in blue.

I did wonder what was going on - thought I'd gone a bit crazy seeing the pop up box.

    Good Morning,

I resisted going back to bed this morning and decided to have a good clean through while no-one is here (had boys off ill last week so didn't do much)

So my Tada list so far today is I have:-

sorted out washing put load in machine, folded washing that was in the tumble and put more in.
put dishwasher on (was loaded last night but forgot to switch it on :()
washed pots pans and dishes that didn't fit in dishwasher
put a tshirt and pair of jeans to soak.
washed all worktops, washing up bowl and sink and draining board
hoovered living/dining room and washed floors
had a general tidy of living/dining room.
moved stuff from the stairs and passage, hoovered and washed floor
    rung mum
had a shower and got dressed.

    Now I'm having 5 mins before I

    Sweep and wash kitchen floor
    clean bathroom
    sort out upstairs.

Ds2 planted his veg seeds on Thurs, in his mini greenhouse, was chuffed yesterday caue the radishes are starting to sprout already. We bought grow bags in £1 shop on Sat ready to replant his strawberry plants in and put in the greenhouse, so I have one chuffed and excited little boy.

Oh and we have dry weather and a bit of blue sky here :)

On the downside though think my little doggy is going to have to go to the vets :(

  • Confused me too!

I think I am back to about 80% health after a horrid week off sick last week with the lurgy. So happy to be back at work - really, because compare to being ill this is lovely. I don't expect this feeling will last for long, I've already been told I am 1) useless and 2) rascist. 1) Possibly, 2) Definitely not.
