Just my tuppence worth - I'm glad that you've finally come to a decision that you feel you can work with. I think it was quite cleare when you mentioned before Christmas that you were in a darkened place and obviously the things that have happened since with your Mum and your boys have not helped it get any lighter.
I do think you need to take on what FW has said but in particular the following struck a chordFirewalker wrote: »and remember that one of the first instructions from Mr B was ‘accept all offers of help and support’.
please accept the help and if for some reason you don't want that help then let that person know - they are not going to be offended if anything they are more likely to be offend at what they percieve as being ignored rather than knowing you acknowledge their offer but are not ready for it yet.

MG a couple of thoughts. Are both sons being educated in the same town now ? If so, could the current set up for eldest son work on a part time basis, ie he attends "proper school" 3 days a week (when youngest is in nursery) and is home schooled for the other 2 days ???
Shouldn't you be getting working tax credits now as you have started working ? Double check all your benefit entitlements in light of the change in your work/pay.0 -

On a different tack - we had good news this morning. Number 3 grandson weighed in at 7lbs 9oz. He couldn't wait to start feeding!! Mum, Dad, babe and big brother all delighted.

Don't beat yourself up over changing course, in all businesses (life too actually) it is necessary to re-evaluate decisions in the light of changing circumstances which is all that you have done. Only a fool would plough on regardless, like those lorry drivers who insist on going down a country lane just because their Sat Nav tells them to.
Take a month, get your Mum sorted, get your life back on keel and then re-evaluate again. Lessons to be learnt are to be sure that everything you would like to do is practical in your circumstances. I know you are Wonderwoman but even you have limitations.0 -
MG: I second what everyone has already posted. Take time out, let all the anquish out and be nice to yourself.
You are an inspiration and have helped me and so many others in more ways than you can possibly know.
As a total novice to any thing mindmapping and wanting to sort myself out I will willingly be a guinea pig when you are ready.

oohh nice
once you get the hang of it can you design me a roll type holder to keep my pliers together?
Do you have a preference for a particular colour at all or are you happy with whatever I provide?
Susan - Congratulations on being a granny again
MG - I think you've made the best decision. At the end of the day if your cicumstances change in the future you can always revisit what you originally tried to do. Your boys are your priority and that is not a failure in my mind. I think the suggestion of DS1 going part time is probably the most feasible unless you can find a pre school close to DS1 that DS2 can attend. OK it won't be montessori but beats him hanging around in the car. I am sure a lad of your resourcefulness will sort something out.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Thank you for all you lovely comments - I'm still feeling v fragile but happier that this particular decision has been made.
Haven't made a decision yet about schooling situation - just doing some research.
DS2 can attend a Pre-school run by a friend of the family 5 mornings per week 9am - 11.30 am. Cost is £4.50 per day - but Childcare Element of CTC will pay 80% - so the WEEK would cost £4.50.
It is literally 3 minutes walk (so no need to run the car)
We (DS1 and DS2) visited this morning - and it was LOUD!!!! I mean so much louder than the Montessori childrens house which is tranquility itself. DS2 was not in the last bit phased though which was lovely.
I stll want him to have that confidence and independance of learning that DS1 has managed to acquire - so DS1 and I had a "Family conference". He would be quite happy to learn from home (to be reviewed at Easter / Summer) - don't think he is to keen on all the travelling with DS2 either.
BUT - he would like a "Childrens House" classroom set up for him and DS2 here at home. A place for everything, space to work and not sharing the kitchen table with me.
So if we go down that route I have some serious shuffling around and decluttering of the house to undertake.............. and some serious selling of junk/treasure on ebay to raise funds for some materials and books for DS's.
At the moment I feel too overwhelmed to contemplate this - but my Mum suggested I host a "barn raising" and get a group of ladies in for one day to blast through and organise (she feels its easier to do this in someone elses house) I guess thats worth considering.
Off to do some maths with DS1 now that DS2 is settled with his colouring stuff.
