So still got about £3K to clear on the personal guarantee - but chipping away at that nicely. Has to become my priority over the next set of challenges .................... I did pretty good at everything except the weight loss, I actually weigh more now than 50 days ago .

And a mere TWO DAYS after Christmas Day, in the middle of the Christmas period, this seems strange because...:rotfl:

    Good evening,

I have been meaning to tell you for about a week now, my friends, but somehow it never seemed the right time. Remember sometime ago I mentioned that I was asked whether I would be willing to become an international fellow of Lund University so that colleagues there apply? Well they applied and I got it - so now I am a fellow of Lund University. The fellowship is for three years, it involves giving one seminar per year, and spending about a week in Sweden (hope that Swedish writers just have very developed imagination and Sweden is not full of serial killers, really).

I heard about this fellowship four hours after my dad passed away. We had a pact that he is not going to die before I get a professorship - he could not wait. But hey, Dad, I'll get there.

Ah FW, that's brilliant, bittersweet for you but amazing nonetheless.

MG, one of these days THE idea will come into your head and that will be it. Sending positive vibes that you come up with something that works brilliantly for you and yours soon X

Congratulations Firewalker... maybe we can meet up in Sweden, as I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to go there for work in the near future (although I think I have a week to cover the whole nordic region, so whether we could actually be in the same place at the same time, I'm not sure!)

Well done, FW, and I'm sure that your dad 'knows', if you know what I mean. ;)
