  • Well done FW (I'm sure Sweden is no more dangerous than Oxford:p)
  • Well done FW!

MG I think on-line courses and maybe telephone back-up if required (paid for of course) could be the way to go for you. :)

The thaw is well and truly on - Yipee!!!!!

So wrapped the littlie up and bundled him into the buggy and went for a walk - a walk that ended up being 2.5 hours long as he fell asleep, nipped home for a blanket for him and went out again.

When he woke up we mosied over to LIDL and got some veggies in, stopped off at our favourite Charity Shop to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and found two "Singing Kettle" videos (59p BOGOF):j

So now back, red cheeked but well aired. Lovely to have a break from these four walls:D

Broth and soup on for tea - and an afernoon with blankets and hotties on the sofa with the boys, ET and some crochet I think.

Rumour has it more snow is due on Thursday (but I'm hoping it misses us this time)

Got a quick hour to finish my stock-cupboard and freezer inventory and meal plan for January (my home goal for today).

Talking to Mr B tonight about 10pm (so fingers crossed for me please) I'm sure Mrs B wil have chatted to him so it will all work out.

Fingers crossed for you MG xx What does this mean in terms of the mentors? Will they be leaving you? Or will they be helping you build the business YOU want to build? (I thought that was the idea? :o) Good luck anyway, will be thinking of you xx

I don't think it will mean losing the mentors - maybe it will mean stretching THEM a little by building a business that works FOR MY LIFE rather than build one to an existing model IYSWIM.

Think Mrs Big hit it on the head when she "warned" me that they are not used to working with women, but rather with men who have a great support system behind them (their wives LOL)

Four weeks of being essentially housebound because of the weather (and its still not finished) has made me evaluate what is really important to me and that the only way I can have it all - is to have it all on my terms. After all for the last four weeks I have earned NOTHING and thats pretty scary - I need to be doing something that the weather can't disrupt so much.

I'm sure it will all work out - and actually I am rather proud that I've reached the point where I can go "Stop!!!! - this isn't right for us" - rather now than in a year or two's time when I've got a full diary and am resenting being away from the boys.

Given that the mentors work with you over the phone, there is no reason that they won't see that a phone coaching model would work for you.

The majority of my client-facing work is done over the phone in 30-minute sessions and I also do a lot of online presentations. Research and writing time is scheduled in between. A lot of my colleagues find that clients in other time zones fit in nicely around their childcare commitments... Happy to talk about it if it would help :)

This all makes total sense. I can see why you are doing it.

Tell those mentors to do their days work then fit in childcare, housework etc. on top and ask them to report back on how they feel about it! :rotfl:

  • Glad everyone had an enjoyable Xmas day, we also had a relaxing day at home, taking time to enjoy presents and a lovely meal then all watching the Wizard of Oz to round it off.

MG I'm sure you will find a way around the situation to get the life you want, I'm also working on a similar problem so we can encourage each other!

FW congrats on the fellowship, so sorry your Dad just missed out on the news but I'm sure he knew you had it in you!

    Onwards to 2011 everyone!

    MG,
Hope your call went OK this evening and that Mr Big and the Mentors can think laterally. I suspect that this time you've set them the challenge: let's hope that they can respond to it as positively as you did to his!
On a more prosaic note, have your pipes cleared yet?
    Take care,
    Greyfox xx
